Surprised United didn't go for Nainggolan, he is exactly what they need.
I dont disagree about selling Rafael.....but Im wondering IF keeping Rafael hinges on giving Fabio another deal.
I know Fabio went to QPR , but this was always going to be temporary (I dont ever remember it even being mentioned as a possibility this would be permanent). Now they it looks like they may be separated permanently, Im wondering if its both or none.
I love Rafael as a player (even if he can be a little hot-headed at times), but even he isnt worth us renewing a contract - and therefore filling a squad space - for someone we will rarely if ever use ....and therefore make them both unhappy anyway.
(Of course Coleman isnt the answer either, just for the record)
Totally correct. IF there is a choice of only keeping Rafael, then brilliant. Im just not sure its that simple.
(After all Hazard moved with his brother didnt he, I wonder how long that will last - is the brother on permanent loan or in the lower age group squads@Chelsea?)

What happens with Courtois is going to be interesting. IINM he'll only have 2 years left on his contract this summer so Chelsea might have to make a decision between him and Cech very soon. I can't see Courtois extending his deal unless he's guaranteed the number 1 spot at Chelsea and equally I can't see Chelsea letting his contract run down any further if they choose to stick with Cech.

While I would i no way consider myself ITK, I have simultaneously come to find that two friends have some interesting connections and provided the info below to me. I cant guarantee its accuracy, but thought id share.
One is friends with Fabio's brother and says that Fabio will 100% be leaving United in the summer, if not before. This may not be news to anyone, so there we go.
Another plays golf with someone at management level at Liverpool and reckons we are absolutely nailed on to sign Zakaria Bakkali (supposedly in Jan, but guess could be summer), who is apparently a 17yr old wonderkid at PSV. Personally, i'd never heard of him.
Make of that what you will! Probably the first and last time I'll ever have any inside info!

Pleased that Matic is coming back to chelsea. Great player and exactly what we need (as well as a top striker obviously!). Didn't expect us to strengthen that well this window.
De Bruyne is a good player but there are simply too many good midfielders at chelsea for him to get game time at the moment so it's better he leave and it seems like we're getting decent money for him too.

To be fair, Barkley is a good shout.
Coleman and Barkley should steer well clear for now. Maybe in a season or so if Moyes turns things around and has united a dominant side again, but until then they should keep doing what they're doing at Everton because everyone is noticing them already.
Are you sure it's 2019? I know wiki says Chelsea extended his deal until 2019 but I've not found any source to back that up. Transfermarkt states 2016 and just doing a quick google, there's a fair few articles (some from the last week) stating that Chelsea are threatening him with being benched at Chelsea if he won't extend his deal.
And while I certainly don't think he minds being loaned out to Atletico now, I'd be surprised if he extended his deal. If he weren't to extend his deal and Chelsea did sell him, he's going to end up at a top club paying him just as well (probably more) as he's being paid now.
