Rumours of Pedro to Liverpool...where's this come from?!

I've never thought he was good enough for Barca, but him, Sturridge, Suarez and Coutinho up top would be sex.

Pedro is a 20 goal a season forward. Bit out of favorite to Sanchez most of this season and last. Would make a good addition to any EPL side that isn't Chelsea or Man City.

This article on the beeb quoting Rene Meulensteen and Fulhams bid for Morrison, surely this is just a form of tapping him up? Shouldn't someone be stepping in to say something about this?

What, so you're not allowed to make it public that you've had bids rejected for players any more?

Yeah I totally agree - when I said he wasn't good enough for Barca, I meant that he wasn't up there with Messi, Iniesta, Cesc etc...he's still a very good player. Would take him in a heartbeat.

Don't see this happening. They need to spend that money on a striker not another attacking midfielder.

Neither can I, he's injured till March now and would be cup tied in the CL but if we do get him, then Wenger will probably try and convert him into a forward player like RVP was for us.

Wouldn't surprise me if we did buy him come summer, getting him now wouldn't make any sense for us as he wouldn't be able to play anytime soon due to his torn tendon injury from what I have read about him.

Just read on the Beeb that Baines is apparently "very close" to signing a new contract at Everton. That would be great news. Get him and Barkley tied down to long term deals, and if anyone wants them, they can pay through the nose for them.

Yeah, I believe we do want Baines but due to his age we aren't going to pay a huge sum for him - and Everton won't sell him cheap. As he's 30 at the end of this year, it's hardly worth him running down his contract and trying to force a move, so I think him signing a new deal is inevitable.

Was done before the Norwich match apparently. Looks like they want Barkley to sign a new contract and they'll announce both after the trip to Tenerife

Not quite sure what you're talking about there, when Arsenal need a striker, we buy a attacking midfielder, when we want an attacking midfielder we buy a striker..... we don't do things the normal way.

Seriously though we usually buy players then Wenger tries to change their position, rarely to great effect, usually peeing off the player and causing people to change position constantly. Podolski/Gervinho/Bendtner/Wiltord/Reyes/Vela/Eduardo/Walcott/Rosicky/Arshavin.

It's always nice to identify a position and then buy a player who likes that position, is good in that position and won't be irked to join and then be asked to play in a position they don't enjoy.

The thing is though, Draxler is being talked up as the next best thing in German football. If they don't get him now, they will never get him.

Cazorla - Ozil - Draxler

Now that is one amazing attacking front. Maybe he will just go cheap with a striker... Benteke or Chico for under 10m or 15m at most. If they want to win the title, they have to use this window as if it was the summer transfer window. They just don't have any depth in their team right now. Man City and Chelsea could probably challenge for the league with their second teams.

Podolski plays on the left for Germany. Gervinho played in his position. Bendtner was shoved wide because he was useless centrally, and iirc was only really played there in league cup matches. Not sure what you mean about Wiltord and Reyes. Vela is playing as a wide forward for Sociedad. Eduardo played up front until he was consigned to the physio table. Walcott is and always has been a winger, he's just too stupid to see it. Rosicky is playing in his correct position. Arshavin may have been played wider than was ideal, but he wasn't a million miles away.

You're also conveniently missing out his success stories - Henry was a winger and became the best striker in the world. Kolo Toure was an AM and became a very good CB. Arteta was more of a box to box player at Everton and has been converted into an excellent sitting playmaker.
