Manchester United's requests to negotiate for Benatia has been rejected by Roma

VERY good. Benatia is a quality player. Didn't doubt it when he joined in summer, and his performances have been exceptional.

I feel that Pjanic may be leaving in summer though, even though Tancredi Palmieri said Roma said no to a January offer.

Also, Roma and Napoli both close to Michael Bastos. The player himself said he is close to Roma, but all the media reporting his transfer to Napoli is imminent. Not sure who to believe. Quite a lot of teams are interested in him too, Borussia Dortmund and Marsielle included.

Burdisso is on his way out. He said he wants to play more so that he can go to the World Cup. Roma once again go in for Heitinga. Hopefully, he joins someone else.

Borriello continues saying no to West Ham. He would rather stay at Roma or go to another Serie A club.

Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham are reportedly interested in Destro, but Roma do not want to sell.

Hamsik to Napoli is picking up pace. I doubt Napoli want to sell, even though he hasn't been too good recently, mainly due to injuries.

Levy does not want to sell Holtby to Schalke, as that might mean that Draxler will go to Arsenal instead.

I'm not sure you're fully understanding Danny. You've 'claimed' that there was not a single major European manager available who would have joined United. A quite hilarious statement with not one single piece of evidence. When someone has dared to suggest that maybe there might be a flaw in your statement, you've asked them to list the managers that were available (A pretty stupid suggestion, why the **** would we be privy to the inner thinkings of the managers in Europe like you claim to be?)

Fair enough can't be bothered to go round in circles anymore :) It also has sod all to do with the transfer thread.

Guys I've already been through alll this with dannyjo there is no answer you can give him that he woukd accept. Agree to disagree and move on imo.

No you haven't you liar. All we went through is me trying for months to get you to say who you wanted instead and now. Eventually after months you said Mourinho. Why you didn't say that the first 50 times I ask, well I guess we can all guess why. Fair enough we have established that no one knows if that was ever really on the cards, I speculate no, others speculate yes or maybe. Charlton said he didn't want to work with him. That says plenty to me about whether they even wanted him. No one either way can say whether United or Mourinho was actually interested it's speculation, we have established that.

Lets call that done and dusted, so cowardly Lion when are you actually going to tell me who you want now you want rid of moyes? The coward that you are you wont give an answer because all you want to do is moan about everything being wrong and proclaim yourself as being right.

Once and for all tell me who you actually want now?

Real Madrid have just signed a left back from Sevilla, Coentrao can't be far off then for United.

I don't think this is quite official yet but it does seem to be a done deal. Surely this means Coentrao is on, perhaps a permanent move - one that will cover the cost of Alberto Moreno, RM's new left back. Madrid have repeatedly been saying there will be no transfer business of any kind, and now this.

It would be great if Coentrao struck up a formidable playing relationship with Nani, as Nani can play on the left (though it's not his best position to date).

Whats the news on Nene? His wiki page says he has 18 goals in 6 apps for Al-Gharafa.

Coentrao would be interesting. Not a bad player... but we need more than a LB.. would make more sense signing him in the summer when Evra leaves.

At this point I would be surprised if Nani even lasts to the end of Jan given how many clubs appear to be interested in him (admittedly at a knock down price)

The Times reporting that Diego Costa is now Chelsea’s number one target for the summer. Apparently talks have started and a deal including Thibault Courtois may be on the cards.

O Jogo say Manchester United are confident they can complete Garay signing in 2 to 3 days, so are concentrating on others first.

'Other' could be Guarin, if some reports in Italy are to be believed...

I'd be happy if Guarin replaced Anderson but I'm not sure he's the star we need in midfield. Be very happy at this point though if we got him, Garay and Coentrao.

Reality is we'll get none of them though. :p :(

Getting rid of Nani will be a mistake.

Not really - he has been a bench warmer for the majority of the last 12 months, and for a while before that is was more tricks and wild shooting rather than anything that could be considered good quality.

Even more inconsistant than Welbeck , and thats saying something.

edit - Garay, Hamsik, Gaurin and Coentrao would be very nice indeed (especially if Coentroa is only on loan, not sure about paying £20m for a player RM are barely playing)

I know Hamsik is very unlikely but it would be good to have a little more choice.

But 17 times more skilful and better than welbeck.

Who else in our squad can flip a standing sommersault?

No huge surprise there that Mourinho wants Costa, excellent player and one that Arsenal have been linked with as well.

Man Utd are reportedly after £16m~ for Nani, however a few clubs have offered about 1/2 that, personally anything over £10m would be a good deal

While he signed a new contract I would be suprised if his wages went up by much if at all (given he wasnt in the best of form last season either)

edit - will possibly involve a player exchange

I hope that comes off. If Chelsea sign someone like Costa the more chance they'll let Lukaku go on loan again, hopefully back to Everton.
