If it ends up being 11m then thats a decent price all around for a good talent.

Im glad Utd arent the only team who can **** up so badly after a deal is reportedly already done lol

Its Mkhitaryan all over again.

Don't worry we've got super Steven Gerrard as our fantastic new quarterbacky DM, just forget that his legs are gone, he has all the positional sense of a walrus and he has had a new ******** torn by both Stoke and Aston villa (we won't come against footballing giants like them anytime soon )

Liverpool once again being their own worst enemy. Personally I dont even know why we're going in for Salah if we're that tight for money. I can think of 3 other positions that are in much more need of investment, a DM primarily.

Honestly Liverpool are so disheartening. We'll be our own downfall, the progress we're making will be for nothing if we don't make 4th and end up losing players like Suarez.

Can't believe Wenger saying he's not signing anyone. Feels like troll Wenger again, builds them up, good chance at taking a tilt for the title..... Then throws it away as he won't spend big again.

I'd be gutted as an Arsenal fan.

Tell me oh wise one, who is available right now that we desperately need to sign eh??. None of the big name players are going to ask for a move seeing as one they are going to cost huge money and secondly most of them will be cup tied as it is. Not that it makes a difference as we have Bayern to play and will most likely be going out anyhow.

Fact is Wenger never EVER gives anything away when it comes to transfers, look at how the Ozil transfer happened;). I said it earlier this month that i would be shocked if Wenger bought anyone in Jan, if anything perhaps a loan but nothing more than that and even that doesnt look likely. If he doesnt then its down to our squad right now to win us the title, not easy with the likes of Chelsea/City lurking closely behind us at the moment.

Id be more gutted as a Newcastle fan that your best player is probably on his way out in the summer;).

Well said.

He doesnt seem too fussed about it, to be honest he is only saying what majority of people are thinking. Its a smart move by Chelsea to sell him after playing Utd twice now, allows Utd to take points off teams in order to 'help' out Chelsea.

What will be interesting is to see what happens in the summer with Chelsea and Utd making this 'deal' ie is Rooney now going to Chelsea as part of the deal or what.

Personally i think Chelsea are complete idiots for letting their best player go to a rival, whether or not they are this season doesnt matter. It will be truly lolworthy if this backfires on Chelsea in their quest to win the PL title this season.

not so sure really, they have kawaga (?sp) who was played as an attacking midfielder, rooney/rvp seem to drop into that postion a fair bit so i can't see how mata will fit in ?

is moyes likely to go rvp up front, then welbeck left, mata middle and rooney right ?

just seems a lot of money for someone that doesn't quite fit

Ooh touchy bit butt hurt its going to be another failure? Lol.

I'm realistic as a Newcastle fan that we'll never win anything, whilst I'm not fine with that, I can cope.

Clearly you can't. ;)

Who is available? Who knows as I'm not manager and nor are you so you cannot say no one is available who wouldn't improve your squad. You still (arguably) need a quality RB and Striker to help your push and you could make an argument for another AM with Walcott now gone.

There are plenty of big names being linked with top PL clubs who would improve you if you tossed your hat in the ring and took a chance. I'd genuinely like Arsensl to win it over the others and even as a Toon fan I'm disappointed you aren't signing anyone as Chelsea are strengthing and City are really in their stride now.

Whilst I am absolutely gutted that he's leaving, he isn't our best player imo (Hazard). Despite his brilliance over the past two seasons he just hasn't adapted to the style of play and has had maybe one good game in his 13 starts this season in the league. He could probably have stayed and fought but in a world cup year I don't blame him for wanting out as arguably he shouldn't have to prove himself again, he is world class. I guess the silver lining is the club haven't stood in his way which is the least he deserves though it's going to be hard to watch him in red :(

How is Mata going to work when everyone is fit then? A floating 3 of Januzaj, Rooney and Mata behind RvP could be absolutely delicious.

Whilst it would be disappointing losing him another plus for Chelsea is that you now have 4mil to try and get a striker and losing Mata can (to an extent) be absorbed in the amount of attacking mid players you have.

So we miss out on another in theory decent player due to a couple million if sources are true. It's a joke when our squad needs quality depth like it does at times paying that more is needed!!

LFC would rather buy players with 'potential' than spend on proven players.

It's a nice policy to have if you are already achieving but to get to that stage you have to be achieving, proper chicken and egg stuff.
