The single best chance we have of breaking into the CL and its being ******* up by mismanagement of the club...I'm livid, its not the Salah deal per say, its how its gone down that sums up LFC

Whilst it would be disappointing losing him another plus for Chelsea is that you now have 4mil to try and get a striker and losing Mata can (to an extent) be absorbed in the amount of attacking mid players you have.

Yh we have quite a few out on loan. Lucas piazon is tearing up the dutch league. Hazards brother just won Belgian league best player and Bertrand traore looks a promising prospect. Mata is too good to be a backup.

STOP MAKING JULIAN MAD!

Schalke Chairman Clemens Tonnies has said we need to stop making Julian Draxler mad. I don't think there's any chance whatsoever of him coming to Arsenal in this window, possibly in the summer but it depends how much Schalke would want for him. I don't think we should really be looking at a swap deal involving Podolski going the other way either.

"I am of the opinion he should also be with us next season," Tonnies told BILD.

"It would be my personal advice. He can play his best football without any big pressure and at our club he would have a clear mind. He is very much in good hands playing for Schalke 04. My general advice for everyone would be to stop making Julian mad."

At this moment in time I don't think we really need a player like him and his rumoured price tag is quite clearly based on potential more than current ability. Be interesting to see if he does actually arrive in the summer, Wenger might look to switch him from a wide player to a forward similar to how Henry and van Persie developed at Arsenal. I'd be happy if we just signed a forward on loan if there's anybody available, Berbatov has that style where he looks like he was practically born to play for Arsenal so I'm not sure why we haven't made an approach for him even if it was just a short term contract.

Osvaldo heabutted Fonte in training* so expect to see him out on loan. I doubt he'll play for us again.

We've wasted so much money in the last two seasons.

*allegedly

Any news on Huntelaar? Thought he would be making some headlines. 30 years old now but could still be a big signing for say Arsenal... even with Giroud there.

Haven't read any rumours, in fact apart from wild speculation with no substance whatsoever (Diego Costa, Jackson Martinez etc) it's been very quiet on the Arsenal front. I do think we'll get somebody in but I don't think there's any chance it will be a big name player. Certainly wouldn't say no to somebody like Huntelaar.

Just go back 24 hours for a start and the papers were reporting we were meeting their 10 million asking price.

It's been 10-12 since the start of the window, we've been ****ing around at the 8 million mark for 3 weeks. Got anything that suggests it's more?
You mean the reports from Egypt that claimed the deal was done, he was flying to Liverpool yesterday for his medical today? The ones that turned out to be wrong? :/

From before the window even opened the reports (from the press rather than twitter) were that we were interested but not prepared to match Basel's asking price. Other than some article from Egypt that was at the very least premature, if not total crap, I'm not sure what's changed. Even when the Egyptian Mail and twitter claimed the deal was done, Ben Smith from the BBC tweeted to say that as far as he knew we still couldn't agree a deal with Basel.

I also heard earlier from usually reliable people that we did agree a fee with Basel but then started to try and lower the price. £10mil to £8mil most likely. We do this all the time and lose so many targets.

What a crock of ****. You don't honestly believe that?

Some chancer on twitter (and I know it's off twitter because I saw the tweet too) sees the stories coming out of Egypt and also claims the deal is done, when it turns out to be nonsense he then makes up a load of crap to cover himself.

So you have nothing then, good stuff.

Excuse me? You're the one claiming to know that we could have signed him for £10m 3 weeks ago and all you have to back that up are crap reports coming out of Egypt that have proven to be wrong.

You have a real bad habit of trying to blag things and despite repeatedly getting called up on it, you never stop.
