Saleh will fit right into the BPL with his refusal to shake hands.

We've got SaSaS as well as Coutinho for the front 2/3 positions, depending on how we line up, and Allen, Henderson, Gerrard and Coutinho for the midfield. That's only 7 players for 6 spots in the team but a number of those players can play in the attacking positions. The priority should be in the defensive positions during this window which is where are weakness lies. A DM first and foremost followed by a LB and RB or a player that can play both positions.

Edit: Forgot about Ass Pass and Alberto although I'm not sure Rodgers fancies either but we've got more than enough attacking options to make the Salah transfer pointless.

Again as I said I wasn't just meaning attackers I agree we need a dm and lb first but again what happens if we find dm we need and arque toss of spending an extra 1m and a bigger club sweeps in again. So were back to square one. I see what your saying I just think your all assuming I'm saying yeah let's spend the extra 20m which I'm not I don't want another Andy carroll

Another Tranfers window another blow out by Arsenal, I like Bendtner but would like a decent cover for Giroud, Sonogo is coming back from injury which is good but he hasn't had much game time and we need to be solid now if we are to continue to challenge.

We need to start looking at a decent long term RB to replace Sagna because I don't think Jenko suits the role, he gets caught out a lot. This season has shown a marked improvement and his delivery is very good but he lacks the forsight to read the game going back. A bit like Mert is his first season, hope he can improve.

I don't think we should open contract talks with Arsene until the end of the season.

Draxler sounds like a great player but if we don't act quick I can see the likes of Bayern and Dortmund trying to snap him up. Even with the lure or Ozil on our side I think at his age he would want to stay in his home country if he got the chance.

Happy Mataday. Now to wait for round two of all the helicopter sightings...

Rumours we're pushing for a midfielder now too as Carrick is out for a month.

So with Mata we will have spent 65 million on midfielders this season which is probably 4 x the amount it cost to pull Sunderlands squad together. I think this removes any potential managerial excuses that our midfield was parp or that it wasn't the managers fault or that he wasn't given the money's to spend.

Salah's always looked pretty decent when I've seen him, he's obviously not in Mata's league but will probably fit better with the way we play now.
Can't believe the signing has riled some Liverpool fans, we've loaned you Moses ffs.

It Juan't Mata when he signs, he won't save United 's season.

Agreed.

I think a lot of Man Utd fans are getting too excited over a single signing.
Yes, Mata is a good start.
But, this is just the beginning.

The League Cup game against Sunderland was a disaster. Was it 46% possession, against a club flirting with relegation, at Old Trafford? Moyes' team shouldve been aiming to put 6 goals past them, not trying to scrape through like that.

That game told me everything I need to see. Moyes isnt learning or thinking big enough. He is managing Man Utd as if he were still at Everton. Unless he changes, I think he needs to go in the Summer.

My feeling is that even if Moyes had Ronaldo, Messi AND Suarez in his team, he still would attempt to defend a 1-0 lead.

It is just the beginning, but here's why I'm particularly happy about it:

Mata is a world-class player, as far as signings go, one of the very best you can realistically get. It shows as a club we're still an attractive proposition despite there being a big question mark over the Champions League, and the manager. I didn't personally doubt this but plenty of people have. Such a signing can and hopefully will lift the rest of the squad. There are plenty of players there who, despite being nothing special, can play to a much higher standard than they currently are. Lastly, it shows there is serious money there to be spent, not that I doubted this.

I very much hope the current rumours that we're seriously looking at a central midfielder are true. Could be Guarin, in an ideal world, €55m on Vidal.

I too worry about Moyes, but he's in a really tough position at the moment and that generally won't cause people to change, they'll stick to what they know. Being defensive isn't a bad thing, as long as you do it well, see Mourinho.
