Shaw looked great at Southampton but i don't understand how he can't get fit at UTD

I really wouldnt be surprised if both went in the summer - supposedly Shaw will get "his last chance" either in EFL semi or next round of the FAC

I really wish JM would give Shaw a decent chance to get properly game fit after the double leg break last season, he could be a very decent LB for the next 8-10 years if given a reasonable chance to prove himself to the manager.

He has had so many niggles and minor problems this season since Mourinho arrived, the lad deserves a proper chance.

Even forgetting Southampton form, the quality has been on show at OT in patches between injuries - so he isnt daunted by the club which is positive.

Would personally get rid of Jones and Rojo, esp the latter, well before Smalling - definitely need another CB in the summer though even before we flog at least one of that trio. J & R looked like their true liability selves vs Liverpool - lost any control most of the time and just hoofed it.

Yea, it could be that, especially a leg break, normally thats a career ending injury but perhaps we've been too accustomed to very good medical science. Maybe he'll never get properly fit again, i dunno

Not to mention he's homegrown, something that could become rare if we can't produce talent.

and by the time they are anywhere near the end of their current contracts the new stadium will be ready (or at least the larger income from Wembley , making it even easier for Spurs to keep them)

Cant see either of them moving, unless for some reason Spurs dont manage CL qualification for a few years on the bounce, but that doesnt look likely currently either

Indeed, if anything both of them should be starting as they have the potential to be top players.

Shaws first season was a mess. He worked hard over the summer and came back flying, he then broke his leg. Such a shame.

Edit: looks like Depay has gone. Didn't look like making it.

Depay going to Lyon it seems for fees that could rise to 21m. Apparently got a buyback clause. I'm glad he didn't go somewhere else in the EPL. I think he could really have come back to hurt us.

Not overly worried by this move for now or the future. Mou seems to be clearing the decks for a new (french ?) Number 7 in the summer

lots of rumours today about Silva from Monaco (70m though) as well - the perennial Portuguese / Mendes link helping with that one no doubt

Only Schweini, Darmian, Rooney and Young (would say Rojo also but not sure that will happen) to get rid of in the summer and the squad will start to look reasonable again - most of the dead wood will have gone.

Reports are beginning to appear that an un-named player was going to move to china for 120m euros but move was blocked by government policy because of too much foreign spending / mainly on european players. (was from goal.com so take it with 100kg of salt)

To be quite honest, I wouldnt have minded Depay at Liverpool. I think he is actually a good player who , for some reason, didnt click at Utd. With the right managing and style I think he will be very good.

If I remember correctly, Liverpool was interested in him and LVG decided to act fast and sign him. Shame that it did not work out but at least we should not lose out entirely on him in the long run. Either we get first choice on buy back if he improves or we recoup the money.

Sets it up nicely for a few new faces in the summer.
