January Transfer Window 2017/18

I'm just going to be surprised if we let countinho go now, I can understand us doing it in summer but Jan window it's hard to get any one of world class ability in, also players like Lemar be Cup tied etc

I hope Conte brings a few in for the Blues if he refuses to give David Luiz and Batshuayi a chance but not the rumoured Left Back Alex Sandro as that is not where our problem lies as Marcos Alonso has been very good.

Sounds like Barca are going to try and get Coutinho, according to press here and in Spain.

Wenger will listen to offers of £25m for Sanchez, Mourinho should try it if he's not City bound. He'd be an ideal #7 for us.

Man Utd have told agents they want 1-2 full backs and an attacking midfielder.

So Arsenal could have got 50m at the start of the season and now he's propelled them to no better heights. Hilarious.
Captain hindsight over here! :p

Arsenal were in a no win situation in the summer. If they let him go and were sitting 6th at New Year then everybody is hammering Wenger for not holding on to him. Wenger/Arsenal's mistake wasn't not selling him but continually getting into the same situation where their best players are going into the final year of contracts.

Everyone was hammering Wenger for not selling him as they all knew they'd be in this position come Xmas :p

He didn't even bother playing him at the start of the season, rested for the Europa league group and Carling cup.....

Oh my bad for posting in the Arsenal thread.

I see they have bought someone for 2.2m and loaned him out? Why? Baffles me.
Prospecting, buy up a load of cheap potential and loan them out to see if they turn out good. The only reason we don't hear more about those types of deal is that they're normally doing it with 15 year olds on youth contracts.

One or two decent players from doing that are worth throwing a million or two here and there.

This pretty much, happened with RVP and then Fabregas.

Then the arrogance of the man to say to the media a few days ago that he’s not worried about losing both Sanchez and Ozil for free in the summer.

We should have sold Sanchez in the summer, £60mill was a good price and now there is no rush for City to buy him...could wait till summer and get him for free.

It's still not clear why Liverpool might be prepared to entertain a Coutinho transfer now, but not last summer when a replacement would have been much easier to find and integrate.

Top 4 is a lottery this season, and there is the potential to have a decent CL run.

Even for £130m, it doesn't seem worth taking the risk.

EDIT: There is a lot of talk that Thomas Lemar has been lined up as a replacement £90m.

Still a huge risk to cash out on a player in Jan imo.

Well his back injury is back, so who knows how long that will last.

Stick the money on Sanchez and Lemar, would be a good window TBH.

Lemar talk is back on but rumour is not still summer for him so getting rid of countinho now as you say makes no sense
