January Transfer Window 2017/18

I cant grumble to be honest with the price, he wanted to go, he's made that clear, it was inevitable. To get the 3rd highest price in history for him means I am happy enough with the deal. He is a very good player indeed but I dont rate him as the 3rd best player in the world so for me, 145m is a good deal for us. Now hopefully that will be invested wisely.

Name a like for like replacement? It's nigh on impossible to replace Coutinho like for like and if we can't then we have to look at replacing what he brings to the side with player that maybe don't play the exact same positions or roles. I'm far from convinced that this Mahrez story is legit but he'll replace a lot of the creativity from a wide position that Coutinho brought to the side.

Don't like saying it, but a fit and firing Ozil could do that job as a roaming attacking mid. He wouldn't get the amount of goals that Phil did, but he'd certainly create the chances. Free agent in the summer.

But also a lazy ****er which wouldn't fit well into what Klopp wants from a player.

So no much about Arsenal other than the usual rumours. Being linked with Evans from WBA, although City want him too but no offers made yet by either us or them.

Also just reading that if we can secure Mahrez then we will sell Sanchez to City this month.
Not sure how much truth is in that, my gut instinct is probably rubbish. Wenger doesn’t seem inclined to sell Sanchez, doesn’t bother him that he will go for free in the summer. Annoyingly Sanchez won’t sign a contract, which would at least guarantee us a fee if he does go in the summer. I mean FFS we saved his career when he was sat rotting on the Barca bench. He must really be annoyed at Wenger and Arsenal for some odd reason.

Do you think we have any hope at all of keeping Ozil? I want us to flog Walcott, so they can use his wages to bump Ozil's contract up. Walcott is a total useless spare part. He does nothing. He hardly ever plays and is raking in £100k a week. Absolute travesty.

However much I hate it, Liverpool to me are stronger now as a team than before the window - now its down to Chelsea /Spurs / Utd especially to strengthen in a similar fashion otherwise 2nd place is out of their reach come may.

Will be sorry to not watch coutinho EPL highlights, but with Firminho, Saleh and Mane Liverpool wont suffer much in the creativity department - the only question is tiredness, but with 30m+ left over I wouldn't be surprised in someone coming in to help with that.

The one player I don't want Utd to get is Ozil, he may not be lazy - and on his day he can be unplayable - but those days need to be much more regular even on a free for the wages to be justifiable

Not sure if he will stay rob, I’m loathed to lose both Sanchez and Ozil in all honesty but I can see why they want out...we just aren’t competitive enough. Sure we will win the FA cup now and again but the EPL trophy and CL trophy I don’t see us winning anytime soon.

Agreed with Walcott, like Ox a useless player who never kicked on. So he wouldn’t be a massive loss if he does go and frees up more wages for other players.

I just don’t understand why Ozil and Sanchez won’t sign new contracts. Ok they want to go but it would be nice of them to show some loyalty, sign new contracts for us. That way we don’t get shafted when it comes to selling them. I mean geezus Coutinho has gone for £140mill, if Sanchez signed a new contract then we could get as much or close to that sort of money for him.

But now we are in such a crap position that we could lose the pair of them for nothing :/.

The only argument against that is that it would look even worse for Arsenal. The star players sign new contracts with the usual "I'm committed" rubbish and then they're gone 6 months later. I dont think Arsenal or the players need that sort of heat on them. If they signed new contracts now, got all the fans excited and then went in the summer, the whole club would be toxic. The money wouldn't make much difference as the players aren't really available to replace them, both are unique players. The money isn't a massive issue to Arsenal anyway. We're the second richest club in the world, second only to City. We have the means to build a team even if every player walked out for nothing.

Yeh I suppose you have a point there, just galls me that we are probably going to lose both of them for free.

The money really doesn't make any difference to me. If we lose them for nothing or sold them now for £60m, I'd still be annoyed simply at the fact that we're struggling anyway and our two best players are gone, probably playing for our rivals. It's a disgraceful situation that really hurts. I'll get over it though. I never thought things would be the same again when RVP went to Utd, but you get over it soon enough. There's more in life to worry about than who plays for your football team.

Oh of course, hurt immensely when RVP left for Utd but in the end got over it and took great pride in seeing how Utd struggled without Fergie:p.
Even made more sweeter that RVP felt let down when Fergie left:p.

But who knows, maybe losing both Sanchez and Ozil may be a blessing in disguise...in that we may sign better players or maybe not :p

Lacazette
Iwobi. Welbeck
. Xhaka Ramsay

It’s the future I tell ya :p

Oh ok, didn’t realise that. Fair play.

Bet the players weren’t happy. They was basically on a 4 week beano while the rest of their teammates were back home slogging their guts out and freezing their nuts off.
