January Transfer Window 2017/18

Since when does any club go to another just to say press are lieing we don't want x player, be pointless imo

trying to play it cool. even though klopp has punched through the canteen door shouting ''we are not a selling club'' and popped a blood vessell in his eye

LOL it's not playing it cool it's a waste of time so we go to Leicester

"we don't want mahrez don't worry"

They would just reply..

"why even contact us then?"

Big fat waste of time, no club would do that at all,

Liverpool most likely want to avoid any and all speculation about players at other clubs after a couple of instances of tapping up players. We don't know what really went on but i would expect that they've been given a ticking off and a final warning.

Tapping up is one of those things that every club engages in, it's just that Liverpool got caught.

Mahrez is a Premier League winner, he’ll want to holdout for a move to another club where he’ll have a better chance of honours.

Which explains why his camp has been linking and whoring him around Europe for the past 8 months, despite only Roma being interested in him?

As I said last night, Liverpool are briefing the press that they have no interest in him at all yet we have reports coming out of France claiming a deal was about to be signed. Seems to me that Mahrez's camp have briefed some made up Liverpool interest in an attempt to flush out other interest. beIN Sports done the exact same thing claiming Mahrez to Arsenal was a done deal too.

Still think this Barca deal wasn't done in the summer? Liverpool have got a great price and spent a big portion on VVD. As I said when they signed him, clearly they were pre-spending. It certainly looks like they have planned for this and fair play good price and players to come in even though it's an odd time to let him go.

Yes or else it would have happened without a week's worth of speculation and him being 'injured' vs Burnley. Had it been agreed then it would have been wrapped up straight away, just like VVD was.

And we were chasing VVD prior to last season even finishing, before there was any real speculation surrounding Coutinho. The money was there to sign VVD.
