January Transfer Window

How much do you guys really think Spurs would demand for Berbatov should he ask to leave? If you think £20m then I reckon you're well out.

Who could Spurs buy for that kind of money? We had to pay £16m for Bent ffs. I think it would take an eye watering amount of money, I'm talking truly obcene. We got £18m+ for Carrick, Berb's would cost much more, especially if he carries on with this current form under Ramos.

You can have Bent for your £20m ;)

I don't know, maybe 25m. I don't like talking about it though because there's no sign that United even want to buy Berbatov, and only limited signs that he wants to leave Spurs. Just a load of crap people like to make up.

If only that was the case :)

Well, it is. Thats why Berbatov apparantly didn't sign for us to begin with.

Wouldn't mind seeing Berbatov or Keane at Liverpool. I think both could form a deadly partnership with Torres. Just need to persuade Ramos to exchange one of them for Mr 'Work Rate'.

Tevez has scored 7 but haw many has he missed from like 6 yards out?

Probably less than Torres. Torres came to England with a reputation of scoring great goals and missing even better. He's missed some real sitters already, but as long as they score you're alright I guess.
The difference is, Torres' go wide and Tevez' hit the keeper.

Different types of player though. Torres doesn't work anywhere near as hard as Tevez does where as Tevez isn't as quick as Torres so he can't play off the shoulder like Torres can.

We were talking about the Premier League though. I figured goals and assists are all that matters at the end of the day?
You don't get any points for appearing less or more :p.

So that £20m + for Berbatov is roughly £5m per League goal against teams in the top half of the table. Mmm. What a bargain....

Silly old Gooner, bitter that you no longer have the best striker in North London? ;)

Which North London Striker is higher in the Top Scorer charts. Hint he doesn't play for Spurs.

In fact Ade now has 6 in 6 v Spurs and only needs 4 more to have scored more than any player in the North London Derby.

:p

Which was my point. I said one was an out and out striker (Torres) and one was a hard working supplying player (Tevez) and the statistics prove that.

What I was stating was that they are similar in quality if not similar in styles.

2 more in the Premiership with 2 less assists. Which was my point.

which is why i said nice use of the stats :)

Why just use prem stats and not all comps? Because Tevez was trailing behind?

I know Tevez isn't a natural goalscorer but imo he's got to score more to warrant paying over £20m on, especially as he's going to be partnering Rooney who isn't likely to score 30+ goals a season either.

You can really only compare competitions both players have played in - Torres got at least two in the CC where Tevez hasnt had a chance to play.

Not to mention the 8-0 CL result that the authorities are investigating due to strange betting practices.

Once you take those two results into account - there isnt that much difference I believe

At the end of the day we would all prefer both players to be scoring more of the chances they get:)
