Hasn't he meant to sign for Everton during the past four transfer windows. I'm also pretty certain he's already on loan at Boca for the season.

Roma are skint and in massive debt so I'd be extremely surprised if they found £12m down the back of a settee somewhere. Giving the fact it's come from the dutch press it wouldn't surprise me if it's an attempt to extract more money from us.

Nzyme · 31 Jan 2008 at 09:54

Here you go lads Jeff likes the Boro so it must be a nice place !!!!

chesterstu · 31 Jan 2008 at 10:06

One of my mates surname is Bates and when he was younger all his mail used to be addressed to Master Bates

Tottenham in for N'Zogbia would be a great buy for them

if we do that we're daft, Zog is one of our best players at the moment and we hardly need to be selling players anyway

However I suspect another skysports news rumour with no substance

Andybtsn · 31 Jan 2008 at 11:01

Leeds set to sign Elding..

Would be a great signing, we are desperate for someone to play along side Beckford, Flo and Kandol aren't good enough.

Chong Warrior · 31 Jan 2008 at 11:14

Just heard a rumour that Defoe has gone to Portsmouth and Benjani to Man City if the deal goes through. Hope it's not true

Tunney · 31 Jan 2008 at 11:28

Haha, The Times printed the (now withdrawn) Kevin Prince Baoteng rumour today.

Chong Warrior · 31 Jan 2008 at 11:34

The Defoe story has cropped up a couple more reliable foreign sites.... strange none of the british sites have picked up on it yet.
