Japanese Grand Prix 2013, Suzuka - Race 15/19

I was replying to Sunama who bascially said Mclaren have lost their mojo when it comes to winning, which he was clearly wrong about as even all the Hamilton fan boys will back me up when I say that Mclaren were the fastest team in 2012. Reliability lost them the Championship... so sunama's "risk averse" summary is completely unfounded and frankly, falsified.

WOW. Falsified.
Are we in a Court of law?
Your honour - he falsified his statement.

Dude, you are taking this way too seriously.

We certainly know that McLaren had (arugably) the best car in 2012. Had Vettel or Alonso been in that car, I think they'd have won the title. But thats my opinion.

In Winter 2012, clearly things didnt go well.
Hamilton must've seen what was to come and left.
McLaren responded by replacing a top line driver with Perez (this shows the team have now lost their ambition).
They start 2013 badly and continue the season in the same way. No forward movement. This suggests that they are either bad at developing the car (which I do not believe) OR they are not taking enough risks.

They had the opportunity this year to weigh in and attempt to destabilize and possibly hire either Kimi or Alonso. They got neither. I dont think they even made an attempt to hire them.

Ferrari on the other hand want to win at any cost. They already have a top line driver. But at the risk of ruffling feathers, they have got themselves another top line driver. Some have said that Kimi/Alonso pairing is one of the strongest pairing ever.

Since 2013, McLaren have shown no evidence of a team which has ambitions to win the title. They appear to be hoping that their design team comes up with a car which 0.5s faster than everybody elses...but the chances of this happening are slim.

To win the title, they need a top line driver. Perhaps they accept that they are not good enough to offer a top driver a decent drive. Who knows.

Really? When were RBR found guilty of cheating?

By the FIA in Canada and nothing was done.

Yawn zzzzz, broken record.

And where did I even mention Button? Only because they had Lewis ;)

You could have said exactly the same thing about RBR in 2009. They had an old driver who had done little (MW) and a young driver who had shown some promise (SV), and it was obvious they were hoping for a car design which was 0.5s faster.
Guess what happened, they came up with a car which was good enough for 2nd/4th in 2009 and then somewhat faster, and enough to win 2010.

The irony being that RBR made a car which is at least 0.5s faster than anyone else - and everyone knows that JB, FA and KR would be achieving exactly the same as Vettel has if they were in that car.

I don't know what you've been smoking, but you shouldn't be talking about integrity when you're so clearly unwilling to share it. Red Bull are more unethical than literally every other team combined with the possible exception of Toro Rosso, who only exist because RBR have no ethics.

I was actually getting slightly annoyed by your constant bashing of RBR and SV with incredibly biased, yet completely unfounded evidence, but have since realised they your posts are utterly hilarious. Please keep it up.

Alonso hasn't won a title since 2006, and though he's been close a few times he's not managed to seal the deal which is fairly unforgivable for a man of his reputation. Kimi got so jaded with the whole thing that he took a year out to recharge following a fairly ordinary title defence year and a very limp 2009.

Is it really that strong a pairing? ;)

Hell, you're the one that suggested back in March that Kimi was mentally ill. And Alonso has now spent over half his career failing to win a third title, a statistic that I find almost as boggling as the fact that Hamilton hasn't added to his tally since '08....

Alonso has been dragging round an underperforming Ferrari ever since he signed for them. TBH I wouldn't have been surprised if his solicitors were poring over his Ferrari contract to see if they could find something to release him the moment Webber announced his retirement. I'd suggest most of the forum would have Alonso ahead of Vettel in equal equipment.

Cant wait to see where they are next year, going to be a great season.
