Vettel on the radio said if he didn’t go for that gap (what gap?) then he may as well have stayed at home.
Did he forget that Max had a 5 second penalty or something?

I’m frustrated with both him and Ferrari, they’re better than this.

You have to be crazy to try and pass Verstappen in that situation. When you have a combination of a guy who can't overtake and a guy hit hits people if they try and overtake it is mental to give it a go.

Great result for Lewis, didn’t expect Vettel to fail this badly. He’s really looking amateurish now.
It just confirms what many of us have been saying for years, even when Seb was winning his four WDCs — he’s very quick when he’s out front in open air, but he’s not a good racer and those titles flatter him.

I snoozed through the race this morning, mostly waking up when the commentators got excited. :p Great result for Lewis, it’s almost a done deal.

Stars aligning for Hamilton again. Yawn.

You mean Mercedes building and developing a better car, and then Hamilton driving it better than anyone else? It's not Mercedes fault that they are doing a better job than any other team. Ferrari just needs to make a better car and get better drivers. No one can expect to win championships making as many mistakes as Ferrari and Vettel have made this year.

Vettel threw so many points away himself this season lol

If you added them up it's probably not far from 60 actually

Indeed.

Just think of the swing in the points if Vettel had kept it on the track in Germany.

If he had won that race, he would still be in with a chance of the championship. Now, i think at this stage it is pretty much out of reach unless Hamilton's car fails 3 times on the trot.

Well done to the top 3. DR done really well, driver of the day for me.

Some idiot moves by vettel. Wonder if he will race next year.

The Italian sports press will want his head for throwing away the best chance to win the championship Ferrari has had for a decade. It's difficult for the team to take a collective responsibility when you can see Vetel's errors of judgement out on the track that have nothing to do with Ferrari, and all to do with Vettel's lack of self-control. I think it will depend on next year and how Leclerc does. If Leclec outperforms Vettel, then I think his time is done.

Let’s not forget Mercedes less than great reliability at times. Vettel and Ferrari have well and truly thrown this away. Not only that, but I expect Mercedes and red bull to be at the top next year.

But of course it is easier to blame the stars :D

And vettel keeps blaming Max :D

His car has been absolutely bullet-proof this year and he's still 67 points down. In contrast Hamilton has had a gearbox penalty in Bahrain, mechanical DNF in Austria and failure in qualifying in Germany which led to him starting 14th.

Seb has nowhere to hide this season, he's had a car with 100% reliability that has been arguably the fastest or competitive enough to win every race and has failed massively. Merc and Ferrari have made an equal number of strategy errors so it's all down to him.
