Japan's 'hottest pin-up' only 12 yrs old.

In some of their photo's they look like late teens women, in others they look like young children.

I'd have to say that if I saw some of the older looking photo's without having been told how old she and the rest of her band members are then I would be attracted to them.

Well patronised and fair point :p

I think the first question that should be asked is whether this is actually exploitation of a child. The second is whether we have any right to consider the Japanese culture wrong for being as it is - if they are indeed exploiting a child, why don't they care?

Do you really think the 12 year old girl has a firm understanding in what her photos are intended for?

She probably doesn't and I'd say that's exploitation

Be interesting if there was somoene Japanese here to comment..

There are at least 2 people on this board that seem to have a lot of experience living in Japan, and I’ve not seen them comment on this thread so far,

I'd be interested in reading comments (if not already) from our female board users. Females and males like to show of that’s only natural, there is a difference between being forced to do something and wanting to do something. When you were young didn't you want attention?

To be honest only those people that have actually lived in Japan can open on confidently reply to this as those are the people that actually understand the culture. What we in the UK is only a small section of there culture, how much do you actually know? That you've not seen in TV, movies, news.

I thought I read a few months back that the MODEL in question was giving up the modelling line of work.

As for some of the "load" some of the females in their "CARTOONS" you tend to find those types of shows are generally aimed 16+ year olds. There is a wide variety of content aimed at various age groups, and you can usually guess what age groups by the drawing style. Most of the styles are not sexual in nature, and are only made sexual the viewers (kind like fake photos). Children depicted in these "Cartoons" are usually stereo types of little sisters, cute wan bee defenders of true and justice, the annoying young girl next door that has a crush (not love) on a male older character (who’s usually in lover with someone of the same/similar age).
Two shows come to mind Sailor Moon and Card Captor Sakura both are technically under the ages of 16.

Did you know that around 50 years ago (I think it was) men, women and children (of all ages) all bathed in public bath houses?

I do thing some people (it seems on here, and in real life) need to learn the difference between viewing and action. There is a big difference between saying a child/young Lady looks cute or attractive and saying "I want/going to poke that lass".

There Culture isn't perfect but then again nether is our culture anywhere near perfect either. This reminds me of the religious groups trying to press their religious views on to others.

"Do you really think the 12 year old girl has a firm understanding in what her photos are intended for?"
I'm sure she does have a firm understanding of what the photos are intended for, its another matter if the intent of the photo receiver are different from the model.

Yes some girls when they are yound do look attractive and i can see that they will grow to be attractive ladies but that doesn't make me or anyone else that thinks the same a Pedophole.

These for the most part are my opinions. Seems like we've had 7+ pages of dribble including his post. I doubt any one will read this or really care and this is probably disorganised but i dont care.

This thread should probably be closed now.

You're speculating though. If the Japanese are that open about sex who's to say she doesn't have a profound understanding of everything she's doing.

Yes its wrong, and yes she's being exploited, I can't personally see how a whole culture can develop to find the acceptable, but none of us can comment from the Japanese perspective.

Tbh we need a serious comments from a Japanese born and bred person to really understand what its about and why its acceptable over there.

I would be very surprised indeed if she didn't know exactly what they were intended for. To sell her merchandise and records and make her managers (and probably parents) vast amounts of money.

I must admit I'm not a 12 year old girl, but if I were and people were selling pictures of me in skimpy clothing, I'd have had more than an inkling of the market they were aiming for.

I wonder if other Japanese girls of that age buy the posters as well. It's difficult to objectively discuss something like this when all you have to go on are a couple of Google Image pictures and the information that she's "Japan's hottest pin-up".

If they all do find it acceptable which they seem to from googling some of the images now, my respect for the japanese has lowered somewhat.
This could just be another example of how pretentious they are, they seem to do anything for the sake of being different

/mild racism

I think the thread should stay open; it is interesting to hear differing views on this emotive subject :)

I said probably ;) and also you tend to find that "emotive subjects" tend to end in heated debates as has happened in GD quite a few times especially when children are concerned

There's nothing wrong with heated debates, this is the internet, a heated debate involves swear words and talk of male genitals. That's about it, if you can't handle it I suggest you dust off your video player and watch Bambi again

Heated debates are fine so long as they stay within forum rules

It is inevitable that this subject will provoke strong emotions/reactions within people :)

Being different or, doing things the way they always have or that is better for them.

"If they all do find it acceptable which they seem to from googling" Because the interweb never lies? &/or because it only shows you what you want?
Also i think you'll find its not as accepted as you might think.

Somebody has to draw the line between right and wrong, but is their different culture and social boundaries so removed from ours, that they essentially, have the same line as us. It just appears lower looking at it through our eyes.

I really hope it's not accepted as I think, but I can just imagine seeing those images on Japanese equivalents of Nuts and Zoo. The images on google seemed to be innocent bikini shots which you'd expect from any mens magazine (no nudity thank god).

Thanks but i'll take magical girls over Bambi.
and strong words and male/female genitail arn't the only problems its also when the thread dead locks in to a repeat cycle that i class as heated.

Balddog, I worked for sony's.
You should have seen the " cough" books they used to bring in.
Never been to japan, but was born in singapore changi so at least lived that corner.
I still think they are jerks, for the want of a better word.
So lets stay on track for the subject please.

You worked for sony in the UK?

If you think singapore is anything like japan then you have no idea mate..

.

I think the 12 year old know exactly what she is doing, considering most girls I know have "messed around" when they were around that age!

I personally think it is wrong, but would not impose my views on the japs. It's up to them what they do, if it is not causing harm. - and it does not appear to be causing any harm.

I don't know tbh. Too little info is known as another poster said in so many words. I still want to go to Japan on a holiday not to long from now.

One questonable picture won't make me brand a nation tho.

To be fair theres a lot of girls in the uk having sex around that age, 12/13/14 .
Back in school I knew plenty of girls who were doing things with slightly older guys at that age, and we're talking 15 years ago, so god knows what it's like these days.

I can remember being 12, and I personally would have known exactly what was going on. Hell, i'd seen enough porn by then to know what's what.

I'm not condoning it, I personally think the age of consent (and alcohol) should be raised to 21.

Japan is still no.1 on my list of places i'd like to go to.
