"Models" can be of any age, size, shape. They are there to model something. There is a clear distinction between "glamour model" and "model".

The fact is, you can model anything with a suitable example. As far as I can see from this thread, most of you are shocked and horrified that a child is being used as a glamour model. Well, our definition of glamour models is certainly different from the japanese, they value things slightly differently, but it doesn't auto-label them as "sick twisted individuals who rape children". If youth is something that is celebrated, it doesn't mean that it has to be a "erotic" celebration. I'm sure I've had posters when I was a kid of Scooby Doo, doesn't mean I wanted to have sex with a cartoon dog.

Classic western christian in-built response to something different. Grab your pitchforks, everyone! Exploitation is happening in a new and unique way over there! Clue : Exploitation is happening EVERYWHERE, and whether you like it or not, there is an entire culture of repressed (or worse, active) pedophiles in this country - but your pitchforks aren't solving the problem.

Couldn't agree more. However, one thing I would add is that people need to understand what an "idol girl" is. It's not a model. And it's something we don't get over here, thus without that knowledge I doubt a single person's post in this thread deserves much merit.
 
I think part of the reason we as (mostly) Brits think this is out of order is because of our culture and laws. It is drilled into us that <16 = jailbait but this is only because that happens to be the age of consent here.

There are likely many U16 girls who are as mature (in every way) as some girls over that age. But, if an adult male expresses a sexual interest in them, we find that somewhat sickening.

To me, this is somewhat illogical. A well developed, attractive 14 or 15 year old is desirable to many men if they don't know how old they are. I used to work with a girl who said she went out clubbing at 13. It is perfectly natural for men to be attracted to (some) underage girls because that is a natural subconcious emotion (attraction in general). Otherwise nobody would ever have underage sex.

Nature dictates that many women become fertile before the age of 16. Why would that be the case, if they aren't ready for intercourse? In other countries teenage pregnancy isn't taboo, in fact it is even desirable in some places.

Now, I realise what I've said above may be controversial. I personally don't go around eyeing up young girls, because is against the law and socially unacceptable in this country. In fact I've never been with a woman under the age of 18. But I'm just explaining why in a nation which has different cultural values, there isn't necessarily anything wrong with this.

Well that's exactly what happened in the US. I can't remember what state it was, but in that particular state bum sex was totally illegal regardless of age. A man was arrested for doing a bit of bumming and it went all the way to the federal court, who in the end decided it was unconstitutional for a state to have a law against it. So now all the state laws against it are invalidated by a federal law saying it's ok. This was only in 2003.
 
I heared about this a while ago, back when she was actually 12. Like said in previous posts, over there the do idolise the children. The way i see it, shes just modeling, its not exactly hardcore. I guess its only wrong when you look at it that way.
 
I have to largely agree with the guys a few posts above me, I think of it this way..

The radical muslims in lets say Saudi just as an example see our women walking around in what we call normal clothes but to them they might as well be naked. They apply their morals to it and it is wrong in their mind but to us it's completely normal and acceptable.. How many people have called the muslim faith backwards or up tight etc.?

A similar thing is happening here, we are trying to apply our morals to a completely different culture, people are thinking it's wrong and disgusting but to the Japanese it's completely normal. They could well call us westerners backwards or up tight and rightly so. Japanese culture is so intricate, complex and alien to us but we have no right to say it's wrong.

Different cultures just like sticking their noses in and complaining about things they don't understand.
 
I may not like these pictures myself, but who are we to tell other cultures & societies that they are wrong in their practices. The majority here in the West think we are the pinnacle of morality & the human civilisation - Yeh right. We police the world now. Do as we do, think as we think or else.

On a side note: The age of consent in places like Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein, Israel, many Eastern European & South American countries is 14, should we consider the people in these countries pedophiles? UK law says these people are all pedoes.

The age of consent in Canada is 12. What category do they fall in?

I dont agree with these pictures, but I'm not going to try and impose my cultural values on another nation and culture.
