Jeep SRT8 - Finally Got One Of My Fave Cars Ever -

Na think he has a 6.2l AMG mercedes
ROFL I chuckled then...

Well just so people know, I own three cars (was 4 but I sold the RX8 and the V6 Saab last year) a £400 Xedos 9 2.3 V6 which I use as a day to day car and our 350Z Roadster... Excessive? lol

WOW, all kicked off again hey... amazing how a big engined car can draw such critisim from some. The SRT8 although done more miles than I wanted this year obviously due to first year of ownership and excitment, isn't for a daily as I want to keep the mileage down and keep it as mint as possible. I wanted a V8 since a kid (especially a HEMI) so I've got a V8 and my childhood dream is complete. Everyone to their own is what I say. You wanna drive a V8 or V10 Lambo, go for it, you're on this planet once enjoy it.

Anyway, after all this derailment, we need a V8 video please sir.
Only got these really... the second one is with my 12 year old girl she loved it. Just a bit of fun... but the MX5 came up reving engine etc etc... I'm like... tokey buddy lets play... hahaha...would've been embaressing if he'd had 400bhp in there lol

Well, it's bite the bullet time and tyre change time. Fair few options BUT went with the Falken FK510 Azensis SUV simply because I had the same tyre on my RX8 and my tuned Saab and they were simply fantastic tyres... so, can't complain with the price either: £638 delivered for: 2 x 275/40/20 and rears 2 x 315/35/20... that's some rubber for the price!!!

Well, as I'm now running consdierably bigger/wider wheels, I'm finding that the crappy JEEP mudflaps aren't stopping crap coming up the side of the car so, made my own... IMHO way better! Basically wider now, so I don't get any crap being flung up the wide and stone chips on the paint work!!!

Well, it was time to upgrade the OEM Factory stereo... happy with the results but not exactly easy to fit either!!! 7" Double Din Android 11, 3GB Ram and 32GB internal storage, runs everything very very quickly! All connected and learned my steering wheel buttons as well which is always a bonus! Couldn't get the rear reversing camera to work however, it's so old hat mine anyway, so I'll pick up a nice trajectory 1080P one this summer and fit that instead! May as well finish the whole thing off!

However... ONE ANNOYANCE... ODB2 connectivity you cant use Vlink or any other connections you have to run a EONON ODB2... or it simply wont connect. This was and is a problem as it allows Torque to use the port but I hate Torque and used Dash Commander for years and Dash Commander wont run on this ODB2...

The only complaint I have is the fitting of it... it will NOT be flush with the fake carbon dash because the heoght of the dash opening is about 3mm too small so ive had to set it back... I originally wanted it flush however like it sat behind now as i dony believe the dash is flat anyway so...
This is my only complaint about the unit so hopefully lets see how long she lasts

So, after receiving deep scratches on the back of ther SRT8 from god knows where, I needed to get it resprayed... and what a job he's done paint.. a 100% paint match as far as his and my eyes go... which is tough with metalic silver... so made up... however the question is... do I leave it de-badged or do I put the SRT8 and 6.1L badges back on?

I'm 60/40 for putting them back on but the crappy JEEP badge is staying off from the centre... what do people think?

Also, replaced all my interior lighting with my usual red LED lighting... don't ask, I just love red lighting

Last thing, I'll be removing the licence plate surround when the private plate comes soon... and just having the yellow onto the silver... something about that black holder that screams tragic...

Leave it debadged it always looks better.
Yeah I do like it smooth... but...
Badges on. We've grown up
... I also like the badges on it as people kinda like them as they haven't a clue what it is normally...
I'm wondering how much to fill this behemoth? £150 for 250 miles of smiles?
... err a lot as as it runs on 99 Octane due to the tune... generally from flashing petrol light, we're looking £130 at the minute... and it's averaging 14.1mpg...
I'd be tempted to go with the SRT8 badge.
... and I did this afternoon... something just said it needs them... slightly to open on the rear...

For some reason I thought the tank would be bigger. Is it around 75L?
Think it's 70ltr actually... yeah it's not that bigger tank for the size of the thing... I was surprised, they say it's an 80 litre tank but that's horsecrap as mine's been on fumes and the most I can get in is 70, so not sure why the stats say 80... not a chance...

Just picked up these from the states... basically the SRT8 front differential bushing sets. The factory OEM don't last long and I've noticed the slight front "thud" when changing say from reverse or 1st and 2nd... which is the tell tale sign of movement in the diff (which probably means a little movement in the CV's as well) and is a known "problem"... so, as per usual, to not let anything sit... ordered, came yesterday and will be fitting these. Poly bushes no OEM for Big Ern so they'll basiclaly last forever and good for 700WHP as well so, you know they can take the power. Now it's just fitting them hahaha

14 mpg; I got 11 mpg on my 5.7 hemi from Glasgow to Newcastle I do miss it but I was a ton a week on fuel going to work
Yeah, if I start motoring, it's in single digits... which is getting ridiculous so I prefer not to, it's averaging 14.2mpg on the clock, how accurate this is I don't know... but I know this, when I reset it and was putting foot down it didn't hit 10... so... I kinda save my "foot down action" hahaha
lol you chaps are bonkers. I got 11mpg on a quick trip to COOP earlier in my car - that was a very short trip. I imagine you boys are talking 11mpg motorway lol :D
Ahhhh you only live once matey!!!

Dyno Day today for a giggle with some of "the boys" in the UK... was absolutely roasting but ran well... even at what 32C plus...

Reckon a few more ponie's in there if this was a cold day... it was SCORCHIO!!! Castle Comb was the location and also after the dyno we headed off to JAPFEST!!!

However, figures were: 446.7bhp@crank (340.3bhp@wheels) with 444.1lbs/602nm of torque! So, what 23.4% drivetrain loss

Great bunch of muppets as well, we had some XFR's, lovely M3 and some Saabs... however, it is time soon for the SC!!! Has to be!!! Need more power at the wheels and that SC should give me 100-120bhp@wheels.
