I don't think that Europe was particularly dominant a thousand years before Christ. Certainly compared with China, Mesopotamia, India, Egypt, Persia, THEN Greece and Rome.

What's been quite interesting is how dominant the LGBTQIAP+ criticisms of Qatar have been, with general human rights, abuse / modern slavery of migrant workers, and women's rights taking a real back seat. The big news stories are about the rainbow armbands, 'rain bow' plane, Joe Lycett above with his gay icon Beckham, etc.

My gf is quite annoyed about the women's rights issues in particular and normally she'd be more likely to watch the World Cup than me, but this year she just doesn't feel able to enjoy it knowing what kind of a country it's in.

Because it’s being spear headed by white men, and with that comes the privilege of white men who muscle out any other issues and everything is always about the lgbqt lot.

Persia's decline happened after it tried to invade Europe didnt it, ditto the arab world and Islam with the 1st crusade. The barbaric comment was more aimed at the americas, unless you think the constant warfare of the indian tribes in north america was all handshakes and working things out over a bowl of ice cream, ditto the empires of south america.

You mean Schools that they aren't allowed to attend? They achieved plenty, the culture and religion is so archaic that it reversed those achievements overnight.
