The CPS will have looked at all the video footage available from Sky, then made a decision. They won't have just randomly charged him

This again would then make the assumption that if he's been charged he must be guilty which is clearly not the case. The CPS decide to charge and prosecute people all the time that are then found not guilty which would infur that they have all "got away with it" using that mentality.

Anyway, my post was answer to a lot of people stating that "...you can clearly see him saying the words on youtube..." and infurring that this clearly makes him guilty, which IMO, it doesn't as videos can be easily edited (as per my post above).

I have no idea whether he's guilty or not. The only person who knows 100% is JT.

Only shame is that they are not holding the trial pre-Euro's like they should be doing.

Shouldn't be in the squad at all.
 
I can understand why they've done this and we all know he probably is guilty. (:p)

Rooney can't get the captaincy because he won't play the first 2 games of Euro 2012 and it would just be silly.

As long as he's fit, my vote goes to Gerrard.
 
I'd just give it to Joe Hart and be done with it for 10 years if he can keep his head out of trouble.

Hopefully Stevie will retire from international football after the euros.

Not keen on it going to a keeper personally, even though Joe Hart has everything else going for him.

I'd give it to Parker for the Euros. More likely to start than Gerrard and an absolute warrior.

Or, just to throw it out there, Phil Jones and back the youngsters? Ditch Gerrard, Lampard, Parker, Barry, Cole, Terry, Rio et al, bring in Jones, Smalling, Cahill, Baines, Richards, Wilshere (if fit), Oxlade-Chamberlain and see what happens. Use the Euros to blood them for the World Cup.
 
Terry should have never got the arm band back in the first place tbh, as far as I'm concerned once you're stripped as captain that's it you dont get it back. England are now a laughing stock having stripped the same player as captain twice :o

It should now go to someone with a long term future in the England side so that rules out Gerrard who arguably isn't even good enough to make the starting XI anymore as it is. I'd say at the moment Hart is the only obvious candidate, he's certainly got a lot of self confidence so I cant see the extra responsibility effecting him.
 
I think the FA are pre-empting any possible fall out. If he captains us, has a terrible tournament and is then found guilty it'll make the FA, Capello and the English team look pretty rubbish. I personally feel that they're trying to limit any potential issue which may come up in the future but removing the chance of it happening.

New Captain - means the FA/Terry have no excuses following the tournament, and also allows the team to focus on the challenge ahead. Not sure it'll work, but can't blame them for giving it a go.

At least it would be something different, our Euro 2012 campaign is so predictable, scrape through the group and then get comfortably beaten in the quarter finals. I'd be astonished if it didn't happen.

tbh when you think about it Capello doesn't give a tiny rats ass what happens to England after the Euro's so he'll obviously just name any old make shift captain. After the Euro's though the next manager should do away with the old Terry, Ferdinand, Lampard & Gerrard regime completely
 
Is it really going to matter either way, we will play like we don't care and get dumped out soon enough anyway. Then spend the next 12 years saying if only, blaming anyone we can except the players.

I'd rather the FA dumped the lot of them and sent under 21's to the euros.
 
I seem to remember Adrianr getting a hammering for suggesting Joe Hart would be a good candidate for the England captaincy not so long ago.

That's true and even now the idea of Hart as captain doesn't sit well with me but if a long term captain is named now what other options are there? It's far too soon to give it to Jones and that's not going to change in the next year.

Prior to today I always expected Terry to be around for at least 1 more tournament after the Euro's now though it's surely the end of him.
