Jordan Peterson thread

Agreed.

It brings to mind those people in town centres who would "preach" to nobody, as people went about trying to do their shopping.

Usually some dishevelled guy telling you the end of the World was coming or whatever.

Now that person can go on Facebook or reddit or some chan (whatever those are) and meet other like minded people.

And then have the news quoting them like someone taking 20s to post a ******** hot-take on Twitter is proof of a widespread opinion with merit.

I don't even know how to distinguish between left and right, all I know is self victimization gets you nowhere.
The things I find great about Jordan personally is that he will not back down in an argument, he will assess it and intelligently reaffirm what he says based on sound critical thinking and a lot of foresight.
It's foolish to try and diminish someone in a light that does not favor them, everyone has a weakness, heck Jordan don't seem to understand that his 12 rules for life coincide with the 12 zodiac signs and in a sense that we all revolve around the concept of 12 since it is used as a measurement for time too which are all man made understandings of the external world and phenomena around us.
This don't take away from him, it means he is a very creative individual and if it works for you, even better!

The issue we do have though are the extremists, some peopel take pleasure in putting people on a pedastall or trying to outright destroy them, both ends are the most stupid of them all.

Jordan Peterson taught my wife in University of Toronto, she is Canadian, she is a child therapist.

Astrology pre-dates religion, religion or at least the story in the bible is merely a story of the stars in the sky.
Peterson did claim he was not convinced fully by astrology but was also not fully against it.

Peterson realizes he does believe, he surrenders the part of him of which is incapable of understanding things that are not understandable, to me that is a mental issue in many people, they instead of understanding nothingness and the unknown as what they are, they label it and create from it (Fantasy) this is to stop them feeling that dread, they are scared.

This is a good start.

Astrology is actually becoming very accurate in the sense that science is catching up with it, planets do have effect on this Earth, verifiably,
Astrology does not conform to scientific rigid analysis because it is an incompatible structure, it is not scientific, neither is understanding that is beyond us, we can only guess or create fantasy.

Time does not truly conform to science, it is a made up concept that helps us sleep at night, pun intended.

Not only is Jordan Peterson an extraordinary thinker in a time of mostly boring and clueless people, but we have this guy too. He focuses more on the point that we are nothing, we simply apply things to ourselves and create fantasy. Big thing is, this guy was pre WWII.
We never learned from his lessons.

Here shows the sheer arrogance of what science is fundamentally.
Weirdly we all seem to think we are more advanced than the previous, I don't understand it, I am not sure anyone else does, it seems unconscious.

IMO you are primed for decent into wild conspiracy theories, you are moving around from astrology to religion to saying time does not conform to science.

These are not coherent sentences, time is not made up, time is relative.

thats a load of guff

Everything is made up by humans, it is automatically manipulated and judged through the human senses and mind, nothing else, science is something we call it, the existence of or what is beyond us is nothing to me, it is unknown, if I took a human stance, yes for sure, it's time, unquestionable, but to folks like myself and others, they see it from the other side, we are the ones that don't fit in with society fully, see through the delusion that is the human condition but not in the sense that we can defeat our own conditions, we are human too.

We call your type the conditioned mind, which is suitable for living within boxes, we live outside of them.

I was going to say I find it really strange how much hate he gets but I am not surprised. Everyone has to be sorted into either good or bad in todays society. If you are bad, nothing you say or do can be appreciated or agreed with.

People are continuing to lose the ability to separate the person for the argument. I think Peterson is a bit of a wally at times but I think he also makes plenty of accurate observations and has the courage to stand up and disagree with the current zeitgeist on things like masculinity and the direction some aspects of society are heading in. We need people to question these things because we are letting the ideas of fanatics become the norm for fear of being labelled a bigot or racist etc.

Seems he was really struggling to get to 12 though. He could easily have stopped at 10:

11. "Do not bother children while they are skateboarding."
12. "Pet a cat when you encounter one in the street."

I would love to be a conditioned mind suited for living in boxes, but i was born a rebellious anti-social psychopath.

Welcome to being normal.
When I ask what is normal, do you think there is an answer?
I think we could say there is a want to angle for the greater good if there are no preconceived ill intentions, now you see that's the problem, how do you see ill intentions if people are inherently deceptive or illusive anyway?

Who and what tells us that we are headed on the right path? It seems to me that normality is being on the outisde, the inside and strict rules for everything in life seems to be the adverse of living, don't get me wrong we need rules, we need structure, but to what end?

Most people believed Hitler when he charged the war machine, we still instil people with poison to get them to do things they don't want to like pretending the army is a great career and is such a structured place until you find out everyone is just winging it mostly and all they care about is themselves and progressing.

People who go to extremes don't understand and will hold onto what they believe right so that they can make mental shortcuts and not have to think, a difference of world view and how things are, nothing I can do if you disagree, I say fair enough, I don't agree with everything either but I have been wrong numerous times too.

I think some people could do with some head splitting.

The thing is we only learn when it harms us, sometimes though the harm is irreversable, it's easy to say you would not be gullible enough to follow, yet most here use the same rigid mentality of seeing things and can't bridge things together to see that they most come from the same place as each other.

The rigid mind cannot comprehend things that do not conform to rigidity, normality is a rigid term, for those wanting to control everything in their lives, these people fall the hardest when things change.

This song is what I feel within JP when he is conversing with people yet he has to try and be as friendly and respectful as possible. But underneath is this.

I don't care what you think in terms of me personally, I care that you seem to think the world should be one way.
