Journey Back to The Stage

Had a big scare tonight, just when I thought my knee was sorted :(

Thursday: Quads/Calves

Back Squats - 60kg x12, 80kg x10, 100kg x8, 100kg x6 (Hmmmm), 100kg x8 (Really aware of my knee now), 100kg x6 (ABORT, ABORT)
Front Squats - 60kg x10, 80kg x10x2
Walking Lunges - BW x20, 36kg x20x3
Calf Raises - 60kg x15x5, 80kg x10x3
Leg Extensions - 50kg x12x3
Single Leg Leg Press - 120kg x10, 140kg x10x2

My knee, my ****ing knee. I'm absolutely gutted, as until now I thought it was fixed. I did my warm ups like Scott showed me, felt absolutely fine until the first 100kg set. Then I got a sharp ache, a totally different pain than I used to get, which felt like it was coming from my knee cap, it was bang in the centre of my knee, literally felt like it was right on the cap. Second set, it was worse, felt it every time at the bottom of the movement. Then the last set, 6th rep, I got a really bad shooting pain that caused my leg to buckle, more out of shock than something making it go.

You know what's weird, front squats feel absolutely fine, no pain at all. Knee feels totally normal. Infact, the only exercise I felt pain on after squats was leg extension, at the bottom of the movement, it hurt in the same place. I have no idea wtf is going on, but I'm so gutted :(

Really ruined my session

It feels like it mate, the whole knee cap feels like a sharp sort of pain, mainly feeling like it's pinpointed in the centre. It could possibly be just behind it but yeah, it's an odd one.

And remember that sensation I had after your treatment last time. The itchy/warm kind of feeling, well I have that right now, all at the front of my knee

It's totally different to before though, so I guess that's something? lol

I could do that actually mate! :) I got my dates mixed up before as I thought I was at Bodypower this week, but it's the week after, so yeah, can do as long as I won't get in the way of your swole workout

Steeds you might even get to see Josh<3

The Wizard is going to be out of the country from wednesday, so it's fairly unlikely that he'll get an appointment before then.

Well after 3 failures at 200, I thought I'd have a week off

Monday: Back/Hams/Calves

Deadlifts - 60kg x15, 100kg x10, 140kg x8, 180kg x4
Lat Pulldowns - 70kg x12x4
One Arm Rows - 40kg x10x3

Calf Raises - 65kg x12x5, 90kg x8x3
SLDL w/DB - 30kg x10x3
Hamstring Curls 25kg x15, 30kg x12, 35kg x10x2

HNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

Some reason I got pumped to fuark this workout, back felt wide as a house. Knee felt good too during SLDL which sometimes it can be a problem

I could be jaffed!

My last set of deads last night, someone walked past as I was coming up with the bar (even though he'd been waiting a while and could see I was mid set), and caught the bar as he went past. I twisted ever so slightly as a result.

Felt no pain or discomfort at the time, or at night. But this morning......ouch! The side that twist, towards the bottom of my back, feels absolutely wrecked, not a massive pain at the moment, but I'm constantly aware of it even just sat here.

RIP

As long as you've not done what I've done, hopefully it heals mate. I'd ask the gym if they can get a separate area or something for deadlifts.

Yeah that's exactly what happened to Dom.

No deadlifts next week bro, srs. Be careful with squats too, remember to brace. Also, foam roll your back x1000

There is every chance you're fine, but lets be careful now rather than later.
