Just another BSOD thread.

Idleman I do have everything backed up so if you think you have a solution fire away. Cheers.

I did manage to get hold of an 8gb usb from a friend and windows is installing from that right now so hopefully it all goes to plan and then I can finally test the wireless adapter. I'll post back in a few minutes - fingers crossed

Windows has installed successfully!!
Thank you for all the help you have given me with this and atleast now I can start to figure out what went wrong with my wireless.

I do have 1 last question.

Wazza do you think you could help me out with getting my system back to either 4 or 4.2 OC? I am now running bios f4d

yeah you need to set cpu voltage to normal, you'll see normal in the cpu voltage list

then look in system info and see how much cpu voltage is being used in the bios, not in windows and tell me,also tell me the max cpu multi for that chip

21x was max for my 920 but the 960 goes higher

I found my 920 to be easier to oc on the odd multiplier numbers on my asus p6t dlx v2. 21x @193 bclk was a breeze on 1.275 vcore. Once i went 20x 200, the vcore jump needed was pretty high. (1.312500). Though it did do 21 x 200 at the same voltage. My 930 also seems to prefer an odd number, again on an asus board, (p6 x58 de). Though i tend to run that rig at stock theese days as it's just a download box.

All my bios voltage settings are set to auto apart from qpi/vtt which is at .315
The vcore in bios is 1.232 and to be honest I am not quite knowledgeable enough to be able to tell you the max multiplier is although at the moment cpu-z is telling me it is x12.0

Thanks a lot mate that would be great. Cheers.

try these for 4ghz,you can use more or less dvid to raise/lower the cpu voltage if need be

I just went into the bios and the clock ratio was set to 24x with the min beng 12 and max 25. Should I still just set it as 21x?

yeah you can do,you can use a higher multi but theres no real point 21x191=4ghz aslong as you disable intel turbo boost to stop it going to 25x it will work fine

actually you can try

25x cpu multiplier
intel turbo boost enabled
160 bclk
10x spd mem multiplier = 1600 MHz ram speed
21x uncore frequency

then use the rest of above settings

Yep I got +10000v set now. Just didn't want to add 0.10000 went it might have only need 0.1000. My cpu voltage is set to normal and the bios is showing the vcore as 1.232 which is slightly lower than your suggested 1.235v but such a small difference shouldn't be a problem I take it?

no it'll be fine, those settings won't be spot on you might need to tweak voltages a lot later, its only a rough starting point but should boot
