Just bought a SNES

Oh wow... SNES. Super Star Wars, Batman returns, Street Fighter Alpha, Star Fox, F Zero, Mario world, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong oooo so many top games at the time..

I loved my SNES and played it until I got my first Playstation and sadly GT1, Tomb Raider 1, Res Evil 1, Wipe out 2097 saw me no longer playing with it, so I sold it for PS games..!!

Oh well, everything moves on. Still a great machine though.. Enjoy.

Despite things moving on, doesnt change the fact that last year the game i played most was mario kart through Znes emulator on big tv.

Now we can fire up Mario Kart tournaments in proper original mode. Cant wait

Oh yeah - agree. Gameplay will always win over eye candy... I wonder if we'll all still be playing PS3 games like so many still play PS1 GT or SNES Mario Kart in say 10 years time..??

Secret of mana was going for £60 in a high street shop near me. :( I've not seen it any cheaper than £40 boxed.

Just been out at lunch and got Super tennis from a second hand cd/dvd/game place for £3 (unboxed)

Think i will probably buy donkey kong country from the bay for £7inc

Super Bomberman 3 is pretty good too, better than 2 and significantly better than the original. Yoshis Island (AKA Super Mario World 2) is a must, the graphics can be a little cartoonish but the gameplay is excellent.

What connection is SNES, it says it comes with RF cable, I take it that is supports SCART connection too. Do these come with it, i cant remember what connection are on the back of the SNES

It has RF (RCA on the SNES, aerial on the TV side) and AV out. The AV out is the same as the N64 one so you can use an N64 composite video cable on the snes too (yellow/white/red RCAs) for a better picture.

The snes is still an awesome console to this day, its reliable, the graphics are still nice to look at compared to some older 2D consoles and the early 3D consoles (apart from some dodgy mode9 and Super FX stuff of course) plus it has a really great range of good games for it.

Ive still got mine set up in the living room, sits above the N64 (only used for mario kart/party) and wii (hardly used, until we maybe get mario part/kart for it + 3 more controllers/nunchucks) with the snes is being used the most.

Sadly carboots (at least up here) are rubbish for snes games now, it was much better 10 or so years ago when people were getting rid of them for PS1/2s. Happily theres not too many games that I would really want to own and play that I don't already have, plus we all know the best games are the ones you had as a kid:p.

EDIT: It also had the two best accessories ever, the SuperGameBoy adapter and of course the super scope/UBER-BAZOOKA-OF-AWESOME-SAUCE!!!

EDIT2: Mario Paint!

Congratulations m8. You have purchased the greatest console to date. Don't let any of the younger folk tell you other wise. :D
