"Just stop oil"

So sad seeing them try to needlessly destroy priceless irreplaceable things like this.

I hope the painting can be saved.
It has a glass cover so luckily no damage to the painting itself. Doesnt detract from them being hypocritical ***** though. I see she doesnt have any issue with having a mobile phone for her hundreds of selfies on her various social media pages, despite the amount of oil involved in the production and delivery of her mobile phone to her. Just another one of "those" students.

It’ll be the latest iPhone too, so the amount of oil used in it’s R&D, manufacture and delivery are the least of the ethical and environmental issues with that device and its ilk.

And thats because they are hypocrites, they dont even really believe in what they are protesting about, some are even paid to protest, its just a source of income for them. If she TRULY believed in what she is preaching she would do everything in her power to not promote the use of oil, which would mean NOT having that iphone but that would mean giving up something that she wants and heaven forbid that she would do that. Just another student who thinks that protesting and campaigning against the government is part and parcel of being a student. Seems to be some sort of psychological thing with students that they want to be a part of the protest movement like its the 1960s again, so they dress and behave like 1960s protestors so that they can be a part of "the movement". Utterly ridiculous, even Greta Thunberg has come out and said that she looks back at videos of herself a few years ago and is embarassed, hopefully in another 20 years time when this Phoebe child has 3 kids, a job, a mortgage and global armageddon hasnt happened she looks back and is embarassed by her behaviour too

I noticed another video of them earlier today, an ambulance and a fire engine, both on blue lights were trying to get through. But the protesters were blocking the road.. AND the police were standing around doing nothing.

I think its becoming obvious that the higher ups have told the beat police not to remove the protesters unless they really have to.

Yeah, I saw this. Would almost be worth paying the congestion charge just to drive my dirty diesel estate into town, reverse up to them, and hold the accelerator down for a bit to spew some lovely diesel exhaust fumes on to them XD

The protestors want the police to remove them forcibly so they can claim assault. Unfortunately in the current climate they would probably be successful.

Security need to switch on a bit with this stuff, part of this is the big speech they get to give to the press, that glue isn't going to set instantly and there was a bit of time after throwing the paint... that's where they could be swiftly removed.

That would be much better, they go to the trouble of setting up a stunt, they risk prosecution and they're dragged away to a side room swiftly to wait for the police instead of being able to hang around doing the press/publicity bit they crave.

I'd wait until the superglue sets in, spray them in the face with pepper spray and just leave them there. Not exactly much they can do at that point

I think when people are glueing themselves to stuff, that's the time to crack out the angle grinder. The severed limb will hopefully put off future idiots (let's face it, blocking roads is annoying people who have no choice but to drive, also wonder if they'd let an ev through).

In the past, one punishment was for people to be held in place while passersby threw rotten vegetables and other soft muck at them. The stocks and suchlike.

These people are choosing to glue themselves in place solely to cause harm and to annoy and endanger as many people as possible so they can feel powerful. They're hypocrites who obviously don't even believe their own excuses, let alone understand the issues they're prattling about.

So I think it would be reasonable to pelt them with rotten vegetables and other soft muck.
