"Just stop oil"

Hahahahahaha..

“I’m not mentally ill”

No mate, of course you’re not.
My sister-in-law is a nurse and has sectioned people. She found it quite distressing and only did so when absolutely necessary. The police can only "remove them to a place of safety" where an authorised mental health assessment is then undertaken not by the police but by someone with relevant mental health qualifications. So the headline that the police sectioned him is misleading (but of course we all knew that).

So JSO have claimed credit for other people's work and have changed their demands after what they initially claimed to want has happened. What a surprise! It was obvious that they were lying about what they wanted. And pretty much everything else, like the sectioning above.

The arrogance to think they’re the reason policies change… also the dimwits who credit them for it. If you were someone who worked in this field and all the credit for your work was taken by these morons it must be so deflating.

It’s not just JSO who think that they’ve made a difference..
Is it time to acknowledge how big an impact JSO have had?

Labour have just put a stop to new North Sea oil drilling. That wasn't on anyone's agenda a few years ago; not even Corbyn's Labour were proposing that.

To be fair the announcement of that by Labour came the day after they received a multimillion donation from one of the JSO financers.

The reality though is even without that, with the current (and previous) governments tax policies, new developments are pretty much dead in the water regardless.

The IET have been warning for a couple of years now that there is likely to be common brownouts by 2028 due to government energy policy. Ironically that risk may have been abated by the drop in demand for electric cars. Domestic gas production is likely to drop off a cliff in the next 5 years.

At least we can always import it

Sentence seems harsh, TBF.

The plan was to gridlock the M25 by climbing gantries at strategic locations around its circumference. Like the major intersections. Not only endangering their lives but those of the cops and fire brigade and ambulances.
The number of excess deaths through not making it to hospital or gaining access to drugs could have been significant. But yada yada excess deaths through traffic pollution etc. Pollution is always worse in high congestion.
Apart from any other consideration it is anarchy and not following due process. We live in a democracy and that is no excuse to take the law into your own hands however grievous you personally percieve the threat to be.
