Just got back from it. Yeah, it wasn't great. I'd give it 6/10. Had some decent moments, but overall felt a bit rushed and just a bit boring.

I thought Steppenwolf was actually a decent bad guy by comic book movie standards. Looked suitably badass and tough. The way he is defeated was poor though. Superman was the biggest problem in the film for me tbh, and I love Superman.

Flash was the best thing in it. The look on his face when he realises Superman can track him was great!

Right chaps, I saw this for the second time last night and absolutely loved it this time round. I would say gone from a 6 out of 10 to an 8+.

All my previous points still stand however but this felt much much better on a second watch through.

Definately too much cut out so I am looking forward the the extended edition. It's also too much to take in on a first watch through.

It's far from perfect and really can't have done brilliantly at the box office. Peak evening performance 1 week from launch and there were 6 people in a screen that seats 200+

I'm not saying this is the only or main reason it's not doing well at the box office but a lot of my friends were put off by the reviews so opted to watch the film by "other means" instead of spending money going to the cinema.

Once they saw it using "other means" they are telling me they thought it was good and would have liked to have watched it at the cinema but won't go now as they have now seen it...

Like I say, I don't think this is the main reason or anything but I bet this isn't uncommon and it won't be helping figures.

I saw this last night for the first time and I wasn't impressed. For a movie that cost so much I was really expecting more from the CGI, the dialogue was awful, Synder is obsessed with slo-mo and that got boring fast, and there was no sense of dread or threat of failure (which admittedly is a problem in most superhero films). One positive is that I was actually pleasantly surprised by Ezra Miller as the Flash. It was much better than Grant Gustin's gushy and sickly sweet take on the character in the TV show.

Seriously, the dialogue was cringeworthy in the film.

Lois: "You smell good"
Clark: "Did I not smell good before?"

Martha Kent: "Clark always said you were one of the thirstiest girls he'd ever met"
Lois: "You mean hungriest"
Martha: "Right, hungriest"

Clark: "I'm glad I didn't miss this"
Diana: "Me too"
Bruce: "Oh now she's glad"

Also there were some moments where things felt really forced, such as trying to build a bromance between Cyborg and Superman after they've managed to split the motherboxes (stupid name by the way), where they share an unfunny laugh with each other over how they both said they wanted to survive and are now in lots of pain and wish they hadn't said that. To me it was pretty obvious that they were trying to ape the camaraderie and banter of the Marvel ensemble films, but in those films the characters have been developed over many films and you actually believe that they could have close friendships, plus they have the actors to do snappy dialogue well.

Is it me or is the CGI in this not very good!
I'm normally a massive Batman fan but i didnt like him in the one very much, can't quite put my finger on why. Superman on the other hand, i quite liked him in this, dialogue aside.

I saw it this afternoon.

It was better than expected, or as one of my friends put it "it wasn't terrible",

The CGI however was pretty poor compared to most of the Marvel films, something that seems to be a consistent issue with the DC/Warner Bros superhero films and I can't understand why given so many other films do it better (the exception was Wonder Woman where it was done pretty well).

This is not a film I'm going to pre-order the Blu0ray for though.

The film was enjoyable and fast paced.. wasn't bored once..

FAR better than:

Suicide squad
Iron Man 2
Iron Man 3
Thor 2
Ant Man
Hulk
Spider-man homecoming

Yeah i know i am comparing it to marvel films.. and what? everyone else does..

The film is being unfairly reviewed IMO, it was a fun film with problems..

The best scene in the film imo is:
When the flash realises how powerful superman actually is.. He slowly turns his head and speeds up to match Barry Allen.. the look on his face is priceless..

I also love how he just steamrolls steppenwolf, i would have hated a "nerfed" superman just to give the plot tension.. No, superman could have literally ripped the main antagonist to pieces if he was so inclined, this is how it should be.. Superman is OP as hell.. He will struggle against the coming threats though, i.e. darkseid.

Sorry about that. I'm really bad at judging what is and isn't a spoiler!

Thinking back, Aquaman is probably done the biggest disservice in this movie. He more than anyone badly needed a solo film before this!
I honestly think he has a dozen lines in the whole film, two of which are 'YEAAAAHHH!' and 'MY MAN!'. What a waste. No doubt there was more left on the cutting room floor.

About 45 mins worth cut out i'd say, i think this was originally near a 3 hour movie before they hacked it to shreds.

Haven't seen it yet, but based on what people have said regarding the film, I would guess your list is probably accurate (Ant Man may be controversial for some as it seemed popular). Based on your list, I would probably add Captain America (first one) and likely controversial, but also Wonder Woman - again, not seen JL, but based on your list I would have these two films scoring similar to those
