Kids these days, eh?

It's nothing new, just pop culture has gone a bit nasty (idolising rap/grime/urban artists and the scene it often creates (misogyny, drugs, violence))... that and almost every single kid likes the same thing these days. Long gone are the days of the mods and rockers, even when I was growing up 20 years ago, there were so few kids who liked metal/rock etc. Nowadays, it seems like there are even fewer.
eh? Im 33 and when i was in school being a grunger/greeb was definitely a thing.

I, on putting on my Sherlock Holmes hat, have an inkling he's expecting, giving the ethnic make up of the town, a z or other unusual placement of consonants in one of the names, and is acting as guarantor to such effect. His comment seems far from odd to me, merely a little cryptic to soften things for the easily offended.

More kids doing drugs = more kids selling drugs

iirc the increase in drug use in england and wales was almost exclusively down to a large increase in young people using drugs.
The types of drugs have changed....when I grew up living in the sticks and going to school in nearest big town, there was quite a bit of weed around, pills if you were into the rave scene, but that was about it. These days everyone is huffing charlie non-stop down their local.

I had a drink at a bar in the village last weekend and I'd say around half the people there were on the marching powder. Ran my finger along the top of the toilet and came up like a sherbet dib dab, could have have had a good time just by licking it :P

There are still rockers and metal kids, they just don't all dress the same and hang around outside shopping centers in big groups looking miserable like they used to.

Goths though, they truly seem to have vanished off the face of the earth.

Its funny, if you look back over the last 25 years ish you will see reduction of spending on services like youth clubs, after school clubs, summer clubs and other such things/charities like that has had an impact.

When I grew up in the 90's early 2000's, there was always something for kids/teens to do after school or in the holidays. Whether it be programs that taught you swimming/theatre/physical activities or some other such skills during the summer it was all there. Afterschool clubs helped our parents and also kept us busy, youthclubs kept kids busy off the street and socialising too. Summer clubs would have daily activities and trips to other parts of the country. Pretty much all of these things were free (funded by taxes and run mostly by charities) and provided much growth to young people. I grew up mostly In London as well and the difference between then and now is night and day.

Back then it was more or less just the few kids on the edge that would be out on the street acting up getting into gangs, but... alas none of these things exist these days they have all been defunded to the point of non existence. a lot of the current issues stem from not having things like this in place anymore to keep young people busy and socialising.

Its cool though blame it on the immigrants, not at all this countries love of defunding things that actually make a difference.

Because much like the majority of the english population in Boston, they are all racist *****.

How do i know? I'm from Boston and im not a racist **** so i'm in the minority
So you're happy with what's become of Boston?

What was once a picturesque town is now a **** hole. Upmarket high street shops now replaced with Poundland, B&M and Polish stores as far as the eye can see.

We used to go to Boston most weekends. food shop then a coffee in town - haven't done that in years now.
