As much as I am glad to see Raikonnen back, I hope his enthusiasm is still there after a season of squabbling with FI/STR/Sauber for whatever points the top four teams drop.
But the money he'd bring surely means LRGP are free to get shot of Petrov? I'd expect to see Grosjean partnering him next season.

Next year we will have every WDC from the last 12 years on the grid. 6 previous champions, or 1/4 of the whole grid!
Can't wait. Always thought Kimi was a boring **** off track, but you can't argue with his skills on it. Although, I can't see the Renault getting far out of the midfield...

While its nice to see my old favourite driver back in F1, his car is going to be horrendously off the pace, so he's just going to be a +1 in the race, instead of a contender

Personally think this is a bad move - cant see him being any more motivated in a lotus chasing for tail end points than he was several seasons ago in a Ferrari

Actually, if you run down the list of teams in the constructors championship, Kimi has taken the highest available seat... There are no spaces in any higher team.
When you look at it that way, he has done the best he possibly could in terms of getting a seat. Definitely better than Williams.

Renault need to up their game now they have a (potentially) top line driver again. They obviously know how to innovate, but they need to keep improving the car throughout the year. If you believe everything Petrov ranted about, they pretty much gave up on this years' car not long after the European season started.
I think Kimi may struggle to adjust to the new Pirellis though, at least for the first few races.

It certainly looks that way howler. Seems to me that Renault have become rather annoyed with him, he probably jumped ship when he heard the Petrov rant!
Quality! Just want to see someone out quali the car a bit then force a few top runners off the road.... (may not be an accurate representation of Kimi but he was nice and aggressive at least)

Pretty sure Maldonado is confirmed for next year with his oil backing from Peru.
I'm hoping Sutil gets the other seat as he really does deserve to be on the grid.
