L4D2 boycott???

Same here really, once you played through all the levels a few times it seemed pointless.

thats's kinda like saying once you've played all the levels of counter strike a few times there's no point.

still waiting to get in to a decent multi-player game.

Add a bunch of people from the l4d steam names thread, should get some good games mosts days.

Add me if you like ricorodreguez

I'll probably just be waiting until its on a weekend deal or something, I haven't played L4D in quite a few months anyway. Frankly, whilst I have no problem with Valve doing something like this, it just feels like an expansion (remember when every game used to have those?) rather than an outright new game. As such, I just don't feel that its worth standalone game prices, especially for people that already have L4D1.

I can see their point - valve need to stop cocking about with their games post-release.

The game you play on launch can be a completely different animal from the same game 6 months later; I've lost track of the number of times TF2 has been altered "for balance" - okay it may balance it, but it may also throw it off balance in the other direction.

TF2 has probably had the best post-release support of any game around, no other game has had so much extra stuff thrown at it for free so long after it stopped bringing in cash.

I'd rather play Quakelive for some pure multiplayer fps action, or maybe TF2 for more of a laugh. L4D just feels a little inaccurate and random.

I very much doubt L4D will die out alltogether, I am going to leave ocuk3 and 6 (ocuk6 being the 8v8) running for a few months after release of L4D2 at least and see how busy they are...

I can see where there coming from, the gameplay and engine will mostly be the same with some minor improvements. But 5 campaigns across 3 game modes for £30, sign me up:D.

I doubt I'll get l4d2, but only because I'm pretty much done with l4d1. Maybe my attention span is too short or something but I like to play a game when I go online and not wait around in a lobby or wait around for a lobby. So I've found myself back on CS:S playing a Zombie mod and having fun.

I'll give l4d1 another chance this week when the new content is released but it doesn't sound that spectacular to be honest.

Its hardly the games fault that it can take time for a game to get going, ok sometimes when it wont find a server

But the other night was due to incompetent hosts not changing settings etc and the fact we decided to wait for as many friends as possible rather than randoms :p

I find it's all dependent upon the time you go to play a game. I've seen 8v8s fill in mere minutes and normal 4v4s take up to an hour to get going all depending upon the time of day. Eight o'clock to nine o'clock would appear to be the best time to try and get a game going. I've often found I'm waiting in the lobby ages simply because I operate on strange hours opposite to what most other people would work.

At the moment I don't even bother simply because I know I just won't get a game or won't have the time to complete one. Next weekend I finish work at half nine though I shall definitely have to get on to scratch my left 4 dead itch.

I normally don't get on until 9.30/10.00ish, there's always a couple of games going but they are already full. Playing with randoms sucks monkey nuts so I go play something else. Now I rarely even check l4d and just go straight for something I can get a game in instead.
