I like how people keep saying British people are lazy.
So say a farm or work place has been hiring polish people since 2004, do you think they will suddenly hire British people over Polish/Eastern Europeans?

you're right, thats why some businesses bring back chinese workers on a container ship and set them to work for free.. think about the profits..
if i had enough money to start my own business, i'd employ british native..
because i have ethics, not greed.

Why don't we deport people who aren't capable or willing to achieve (and I use that word oh so lightly) five decent GCSEs, and whenever we do, import someone who can.

This is a situation that will never be stopped. Especially with the economic problems of the last few years, cheap labour is in demand and will always be. Regardless of public opinion or government policies, immigration will always bring in a large amount of cheap labour.

obviously a lot wont earn enough so wont pay some tax, but will still pay tax on anything they buy, they also dont get given a house, they've got to work to pay their rent..
i was talking to a lad from poland who was working in asda and said he didnt get paid enough to pay the rent on his demp ridden flat so had to move into a cheaper flat.. he told me all about poland and even though he could barely afford to live in the uk it was stil better than poland..
no british person in their right mind would want to live like he was, no time off and still living in a **** hole, yet this is the way most of them live, not all but a lot, i know of another polish lad living in a lovely rented house, hes a plumber working cash in hand, so no tax paid, great for him, not so much for hmrc..
agreed, they bring in wealth for who ever is employing them..
doing jobs no-one wants to do, not doing the jobs we're too lazy to do..

That is what I don't understand if Poland is such a dump, how are they skilled/how did they learn anything? They are walking into jobs after getting off the coach not because they are skilled but because British employers can pay them less and if they kick up a fuss they are sacked and another immigrant is sort.
I have worked with some Polish builders and they cut corners on everything, not trained to British regs and you wonder why Poland is a dump!

lier this thread tells me polish people have the japanese work ethic ,german precision and chinese wages.

You're taking a very simplistic view of how an economy works.
Also, if you start by becoming more insular, think of what will happen if every other country decides to do what you are implying. We need the rest of the world more than they need us.

we're in the top 10 most richest countrys, we import a shed load, i'd say we're pretty important to a lot of other countrys
Not all Polish are angels.Where I work in the past couple of months two have been escorted from the premises for drinking onsite and another turned up for work and he had one of those curfew Tags on his ankle so was let go as soon as it was seen.

Are you sure those numbers are right (can't read the pdf on this machine)? They appear to suggest that more than half of British children leave school before they do their GCSEs! That certainly wasn't the case in my experience (I did my gcses around 2003.

Because the sad truth is they are Lazy.
If they were so interested in working then they would have taken those normal day to day jobs that pay the minimum wage. The fact is that years / decades of free government handouts have made the majority of the non skilled based workforce apathetic, Lazy and delusional.
Successive governments have bred a society that has a warped sense of entitlement with no responsibilities. That is the problem.
The common attitude is why should I go to work for say 150-200 quid a week doing something manual / cleaning / waiting job when i can sit on my fat arse watch jeremy kyle and play COD4 on my PS3 while getting paid to do that by the taxpayer through the extraordinarily generous benefits scheme in this country, which incidently I don't even have to feel responsible for because I never have to pay any of it back or even really make an attempt to get a job provided I take my 10 burger eating ass down to the job centre every now and again.
I have seen what these layabouts do when they get to the job centre. They usually abuse the staff and say 'look the only reason i am here is because I lose my benefits if i don't show up'
These people have no interest or desire to work, they are has as been stated in this thread by numerous people Lazy Bone Idle Scalliwags.
So as these jobs need to still be done who steps in to fill the breach ? yes you got it migrants, and why is that again, because the natives who could do these jobs are lazy.

62million people in the uk, 2million people out of work, thats hardly lazy and most of that 2million will have lost their job due to the recession.
i wouldnt mind finding out how many people have been on jsa for over 10 yr, this small minority of people should have their benefits slashed
