Really need to give this a go. Can anyone direct me toward some more info on airsoft pleeeeeeeeease :)

A good place to start would be the UKARA website. That will get you in the know regarding the legal implications of replica guns. then just google for airsoft sites in your region.

for the most part I've found airsofters to be a very friendly and accommodating bunchso don't be afraid to just turn up and get stuck in. most sites offer rental gear as well so there's no pressure to rush out and spend a ton of money beforehand.

:) sorry just wanted to get that clear as I have never been in the army so I can never say BUT my friend has and like I said its the closest u will get.

I would never say a fun sport is the same as war heaven forbid I could never imagine being shot at for real :(
.

Off topic here but when I watched BOB and they had the people that actually fought in the war telling there story's man I felt so sad for them poor sods I really did they went through hell and I have so much respect for all in the army.

I can't say I am familiar with BOB?

For me, all the actions I was involved with I didn't really think about the consequences at the time, only after being injured did I have time to reflect and think WTF was I thinking joining the Royals, but seriously it depends entirely on the individual and their ability to compartmentalise, I am lucky that I can move on mentally quickly, I feel sorry for those that cannot.

But yes, your friend is correct, airsoft can be as close to an exercise that you can get without being a soldier. My mates just don't like it cos they lose when we play.

Whats the american comedy film called where two blokes have to look after some kids as part of their parole and one of the kids is into the LARPing? Quite a funny film but cant remember the name

Just for you:

Lol, now my wife wants to know why I am looking at pics of weird women and listening to weird music (her words)

After a quick (stuttering) explanation, she informed me that there was no way in hell that she was dressing up like Xena warrior princess just to engage my strange fantasies....

(she did add..."in public" at the end....)

"Larping for the most under developed, retarded, most inept and incapable of us all.

Good job most kids choose alcohol istead of this Larp-o-hol failure"

That is a little harsh tbh there not hurting no one.

oh and

SlyReaper

"All you people calling it gay and retarded, loosen the **** up. It looks like fun."

GAY :P

If your fun entails the same level of activity that my three-year-old nephew has, then yes.

If I'm understanding it correctly, it's like playing a MMORPG, but without sitting in front of your computer all on your lonesome. It's like WoW, but with the sad loner part taken out.

There's also the whole aspect of making an awesome costume and showing it off to all the other LARPers, something I can relate to since I've done some cosplaying before. :D
