** LATE BUT IN FASHION: SAMSUNG G700 GAMING LAPTOP ARRIVING TOMORROW! **

Or a hard shell case big enough to fit the glasses in? They are a bit of a PITA for not being hinged so they won't fold into a normal case making the only option to transport them at the moment the original box...

Does anyone know of or bought a spare PSU brick for this laptop?

Won't a universal power supply do? I've seen many laptop power supplies that have different attachments for various laptops.

As for the 3D glasses, they don't fold? lol well considering i've just ordered one of these bad boy laptops guess I'll be looking for a case for my 3D glasses as well..

My biggest question will be - 'where to buy a spare pair after I've either broken them or the missues wants to watch 3D movies with me' lol

I haven't found a universal PSU with the required 4 pin connector for this laptop yet and no much to my annoyance the glasses don't fold, they are have flexible arms but don't fold! Grrr.

Hi,
sorry to be a pain but is anyone else having problems with burning data disc's with this laptop's optical drive? I've tried various burning programs including CDBurnerXP, Burnaware Free, Ashampoo, Nero etc and all of these hang indeff at the preparation phase of the burn. The drive has no problems playing/reading discs (although it appears to be riplocked at low reading speeds) just burning them. Any help at all would be massively appreciated. I'm now considering getting any external drive for burning purposes but I shouldn't have to be forced down this route.Help!!!

Please, I would greatly appreciate it. I've tried various (good quality) dvdr media and it's always the same outcome. Could it be Windows 7 Built-in CD and DVD Burning Support getting in the way of the 3rd party burning programs?

That sounds great, playing MW3 on my 46" Sammy LCD from this laptom is superb!

What model number is this Genoma?, i have a SAMSUNG UE40D6530, and its really a brilliant tv. However, when connecting the 700G7A laptop to it, it the TV doesn't seem to display 120Hz on screen, but 60Hz (sometimes 30hz) i've only put one game in so far on tv, F1 2011, and it runs fine in 3d VIA tri-def (though the tv has a 2D-3D conversion which can by-pass the tri-def if you wish).

The frame rate though, however, is locked at 30 frames with V Sync ON. With V-sync OFF i get 40+ frames but it looks very blurry/Tearing? (not sure). So I gather my TV doesn't sync at 120Hz (tv and laptop), if not, does this mean i am limited to 30 FRAMES PER EYE?, it looks smoother than 30 frames though...

Hi Famitsu. I've not done much CD/DVD burning ATM, but have used Windows 7 "burn files to Disk" without any problem. Not got any 3rd party S/W on ATM. maybe someone else has tried this and can help you more?

Just got my Samsung, gosh it does look cheap.. sorry but for £1400 its really nothing to look at, but the screen looks to be excellent. Leaving it to get to room temps before starting it up..

Its not as heavy as I thought it would be. The keyboard feels nice, has a rather niffy jog dial thingy which is quite funky looking.

Looking forward to trying Metro 2033 later on it. Hoping for blistering performance compared to my old Dell Studio 1749, however Dell Studio wins the aesthetics, the Dell looks nice and well built, the Samsung is just a huge plastic looking brick with a rather flimsy feeling lid – with plastic hinges?? I hope that these don’t break over a period of time.. Seems Samsung did put all costs into the insides and kinda looks like they went cheap on the aesthetics, however plastic hinges isn’t good for a laptop with a screen of this size..

I don't think it looks or feels cheap at all, I really like the loks of this laptop, stealthy black with the blue backlights make it loop superb! :) Keyboard is excellent, I touch type and use a lenovo at work which I thought was good, the Samsung keyboard is a lot better.

Started playing Starcraft yesterday again, it had not trouble so far running with ultra settings.

Did you go for the SSD? If you do be prepared for a day of driver + windows update installs :) Keep us informed on how you get on with it!

Yes I did get an SSD, a Samsung one, so i've got a lot of VAT due back to me..!! lol

I've powered it on, it boots quickly even without the SSD... i'm at work so can't do much, but the blue keyboard looks epic I must admit. Like how the Samsung logo is blue as well..

Whats with the red glowing speakers?? doesn't matter won't be used much, as I use a USB PC333 G4Me headset, its lovely to see the AMD control panel list that epic GPU, and I like the 3D glasses.

I can see where samsung put the effect in, its been packed with a lot of power for your money, but i'm still not sold on its looks, however sure once I get metro 2033 on it, with that SSD and I fire up a DX 11 GPU killer and if I get 30fps at its native res (wish wish lol) then I'll forget about its bland looks, and enjoy some serious gaming..

Missus isn't going to be happy, she'll not see me as i'll have my face stuck to the screen with my headphones on, logitech G400 on my hand laying down some serious fps gaming..!! awesome. lol

I've had my sammy g700 for a few weeks now and I have to say I am dead happy with it. The screen is amazing very crisp and the viewing angles are very good (one of the best I have seen on a laptop) Gaming is really good on it along with the 120hz screen they look very clear too.

The turbo toggle is handy. I do wish though you could configure the keyboard to say perma in the turbo colour mode. As some games I have played I really see no need to put extra strain on the cpu and gfx card for no reason but I prefer the colour set on the keyboard in turbo mode. If anyone knows if there is a way to set that so have the backlight blue and red on wsad in balanced mode I will give you cookies !!!!

I bought this to replace my desktop as I will be doing a bit more travelling (for work) and wanted something I could take with me. So far I have not been dissapointed.

There are two things I do not like about it though. The lid is a MASSIVE dust magnet ! it gets rather annoying having to constantly wipe the dust off it every couple of days, altho this is just a minor aesthetic thing. Also maybe its just me but I the trackpad is awful, maybe I just hate trackpads but if your gaming or anything for that matter I would highly recommend a mouse (like the razer naga :p <3 my razer naga)

I think the trackpad is very good, the extra multi-touch configurable gestures are pretty handy too, but the trackpad is there for managing Windows. Gaming is pretty much impossible on any trackpad surface.

I got a MS wireless mouse 4000 for it, and just bought some rechargeable batteries as it seems to get through them like there is no tomorrow.

Oh on a PS: I found the Wenger/Swissgear Ibex an exellent bag for this laptop, albeit lacking a little bit in the padding at the top of the bag, mainly because of the size of the machine. Otherwise it's very confortable and full of useful pockets and storage compartments.
