Laurence Fox

Given its supposedly a free speech platform I have been banned at least 10 times, I change my sign up name to FactChecker and "check" peoples posts, they rage so hard, its great fun. :p
I don't know Gab . So I have no idea what it's like over there. But considering the fact you've been banned again and again and again, then maybe the problem is you rather than them?

I've had a few people go on about Parler to me. I don't do social media and I notice you can't look at anything without signing up so I have no idea what it's like. It seems to be attracting 5G "Bill Gates is Satan" anti-vaxxers and the like from what I can see.

I can see why people would want alternative platforms though. The likes of youtube and twitter don't have a great rep at the moment what with all the cancel culture outrage and shadow banning.

Looks like the conservatives Liz Truss is trying to court the Reclaim Party voters!

I'm not confined by his arguments on lockdown but I feel Laurence Fox is only saying what most people think regarding the 'equality' legislation some identity groups are proposing.

There are too many identity groups out there trying to demand preferential treatment (quotas/etc) and demanding an "equal" outcome rather than asking for equal opportunities and a level playing field.

I find it ironic that many of these groups ask us to not judge people because of their skin/gender/etc then insist they be given additional opportunities because of the group they identify as!
Most people dont even think about it. What you mean is those that are outraged by it. Also Laurence Fox sort of promoting Lizz Truss is ******* funny.

Most people dont even think about it. What you mean is those that are outraged discriminated against by it.

Perhaps it's because I'm white and male but let's just say I've noticed that most "equality" legislation and policy seems to actively discriminate against me in favour of other ethnicities and genders.

If they just said they were now actively discriminating against straight white males the end result would be the same as "equality".

The issue i have is that my definition of "equality" is all groups having the same rights, opportunities and responsibilities regardless of their skin colour or gender.

Whereas other's definition of "equality" is their particular group identity being given opportunities/preference that others aren't to achieve what they perceive as an "equal" outcome.

The public (who generally don't identity themselves by these labels) are beginning to notice that equality in the eyes of some doesn't actually mean an end to discrimination and everyone bring treated the same regardless of their gender/ethnicity/etc. If anything it means the exact opposite.

Hence the backlash brewing where many individuals are starting to question the agenda behind these ideologies.

This is exactly why, probably around 5 years ago, people started replacing "equality" with "equity", in order to try to wriggle out of that one because it's clearly *not* equality. It's more brazen.

Yeah, I've noticed some "pro- equality" groups trying to redefine the dictionary definition of "equality" as equity because it doesn't suit their reverse-discriminatory political agenda.

I think it's abhorrent they're doing it quite honestly. I suspect it's the reason so many are starting policies/movements like Laurence Fox and Liz Truss in order to challenge those pedalling identity politics as equality when it's clearly the polar opposite and simply groups looking for preferential treatment.

The problem is that these groups want equality of outcome, not equality of opportunity.

I disagree. I think they want the prejudice and discrimination that they are actively and openly advocating and which they impose whenever and wherever they have the power to do so.

They lied and are lying about wanting equality of opportunity. They lied and are lying about wanting diversity. They lied and are lying about being liberal. They have utterly corrupted those words, turning them into the opposite of themselves in a way and to an extent that The Ministry of Truth would be impressed by.

They are biological group advocates, the very essence of irrational prejudice and discrimination.

They actively, constantly and passionately promote sexism, racism and pretty much every other form of irrational prejudice and discrimination.

Why would anyone assume they're telling the truth about wanting equality of outcome? Or anything?

whats his reason for exemption ? i assume anyone could just go on amazon and buy one of those ...
According to a Tory MP.
On Saturday, Tory MP Simon Hoare, who is also chairman of the Commons' Northern Ireland Select Committee, savaged Mr Fox when he weighed into the row.

He wrote: 'I hadn't realised that being a first class, ocean going, chateau bottled, nuclear powered **** was an exemption from wearing a mask. What a selfish loathsome tool this man is'.
For the first time in my life I actually agree with a Tory.

I think his condition is similar to freeman nonsense.

Oh FFS. I was on board with him at the start, pointing out ridiculous ****, but now here he is doing ridiculous **** to presumably highlight a loophole that really shouldn't be abused.

Just be decent human being.

I'd not heard of him before this thread appeared but, over the intervening months, his name is almost constantly popping up.

Quite clearly, with this latest stunt, he's a total muppet and, frankly, I'd be pretty embarrassed if I was one of those who considered him any kind of "straightforward no nonsense voice of reason".

Treat this as a learning experience on the mechanisms behind these awful right-wing talking-point generators. They're always the absolute worst.

why? When the guy's talking sense, there's nothing wrong with agreeing with that. When he's being a absolute pratt, there's nothing wrong with thinking that. Id rather be somebody who recognised even a lunatic can talk sense sometimes, than be somebody embarrassed because they once agreed with a guy who quite clearly has fallen off a bit of a cliff as of late.

The world isnt black and white.
