Looks like that was anti terrorism related and included anti terrorism police, from the quick video linked above this incident just looks like regular plod. Not really comparable is it?
Regular plod can use the same powers and they do, liberally.

For instance during 2005 when the useless Jack Straw was heckled by an octogenarian that was then kicked out of the Labour conference had Section 44 used against him trying to get back in.

Looks like it's 2 difference offences you are trying to compare- but yeah your example is clearly wrong as agreed by the hc. Out of interest did it make the forum?

Has he been out with the angle grinder then ?

From the Independent..

The search comes the day after he praised ULEZ Bladerunners and promoted the “mass removal of the surveillance state” on a Rumble stream.

He told host Maajid Nawaz: “I encourage them to tear down every single camera there is.

“I will be joining them to tear down cameras as well. Because I’m one of those people who puts my money where my mouth is.

“I will be out there with an angle grinder.”

He added: “I would be happy to be arrested myself.”

It has not been confirmed whether this is linked to the raid but Scotland Yard has been approached for comment.

I dunno, before my time.

To be fair saying you're going to be committing criminal damage for political reasons on a livestreaming service is probably less an abuse of power and more like what the legislation was intended for. He's clearly done this on purpose to create this exact situation.

The Terrorism Act 2000 defines terrorism, both in and outside of the UK, as the use or threat of one or more of the actions listed below, and where they are designed to influence the government, or an international governmental organisation or to intimidate the public. The use or threat must also be for the purpose of advancing a political, religious, racial or ideological cause.

The specific actions included are:

  • serious violence against a person;
  • serious damage to property;
  • endangering a person's life (other than that of the person committing the action);
  • creating a serious risk to the health or safety of the public or a section of the public; and
  • action designed to seriously interfere with or seriously to disrupt an electronic system.

Do you think the 'crime' warranted half a dozen police showing up, considering its often reported thst there aren't enough of them to do their job of investigating actual crimes not some trumped up ******?

I think there was a thread for the 'art' raid but wrt to the number of police I imagine it's the bare minimum for a raid in terms of internal guidelines (I assume there are teams and whoever happens to be on duty gets drafted into the raid?).

Did Chris say he was going to do it? No.

A statement of support could feasibly be taken as inciting, but saying you intend on committing terrorism as per the laws definition of it... bit hard for the police to just ignore else the question of what else they ignore will result in mountains of paperwork.

Oh this is Hilarious. I looked him up on IMDB and found he’s only made ONE film since 2020. And it’s a doozy!

Gina Carano is in it too! What an awful looking film! Apparently bankrolled by Breitbart too! :cry::cry::cry:

I suppose its about proportionate response for me, what do they achieve by sending that many in response to some bloke flapping his gums that 2 officers rocking up and asking questions wouldn't have?
