*** League of Legends ***

Excellent couple of games tonight, its so much better to not be playing with ragers
I'll be back on tomorrow for some more Morgana killing fun

Yep first game was a bit dire - loosing my masteries due to that app I posted earlier (don't use it!!) and trying Blitz without any clue what I was doing with him wasn't a great idea :) Love his grab that has some range, although pulling one from the brush where the enemy then just appears next to you if grabbed is pretty spooky :)

Second game looked like it was going to cause us trouble but luckily they hada very poor warwick which always helps :)

Love Morgana's stun - never appreciated you could just shoot that through the brush to stun any waiting adversaries.

Tals

** think i'm going to give Alistair some love tonight, been a long time since I last played him - don't expect kills but do expect good team help :) **

I was going to post this last night but forgot to include it in my post... what are your favourite Champions at the moment? I've had a few practice games to see what style I like and so far I've been leaning towards the ranged classes. I bought Ashe last night (as I played her in the tutorial) and she is great fun to play, the arc of arrows is really hard hitting early on although I've found I get killed easy at level 18 buy the melee champions, that's if they get in range.

I know there is plenty of time to try all the other champions but I thought I'd ask anyway :)

Been reading a bit about Amumu now that we're getting regular groups, got my dps carry (Jax) and dps support (Annie) so some nice tanky goodness could be fun to try.

I always find Amumu a weird one, whereas with most you are trying to get them closer to your team with Amumu he gets himself closer to the action and potentially away from his team - interesting hero for sure though.

Poppy interests me - diplomatic amunity whereby you only take damage from a nominated hero (including towers) seems very neat!

Two games so far this evening and in both of them two people were AFK for the whole game. Is this a common occurrence and why do they do it, for the lulz? Annoys the hell out of me, all I want is a good game :p

Yep it's one of the reasons we get together on vent. Premades are far safer in that respect and we have a number of channels so multiple games can be happening :)

Riot Games has been looking forward to Season One as the beginning of League of Legends as a competitive title. With this in mind, it is my pleasure to introduce you to the latest addition to our staff: Matt Marcou. Those of you who have come to us from a background in competitive Defense of the Ancients may recognize him as the former general manager of Team Evil Geniuses, and the founder of the Fire and Ice Tournament Series. While Fire and Ice might be the reason that Monsieur Marcou’s reputation precedes him in this particular venue, Matt’s eSports experience includes over nine years managing online and LAN events, and the sponsorship of his own professional team, VerGe Gaming. I might add that he is also a class act and an ambassador for the field of competition gaming.

As we move towards the beginning of Season One, Matt will help to aggressively drive League of Legends forward into the competitive space. His experience in the field will help us to arrange sponsorship, organize LAN and online tournaments, and coordinate other events related to Riot’s vision of League of Legends as a competitive medium. We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to work with a man of his particular talents, and we are confident that the future of League of Legends as an eSport is in very capable hands.

Matt Marcou is an extremely accomplished, respected, and well connected individual in the eSports community, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him on board here at Riot Games helping lead League of Legends towards a bright future in the competitive realm.

Just had the most amazing game ever as Malphite, 21 9 0 build so not really tanky.

Was pug, so with 4 random's i was 'chosen' to go mid lol.

Fast foward 10 mins, im 2-1 kills up on Karthus, and have both his middle towers smashed, and they finally gank me as im pushing the base (still laning phase, only lvl 11 lol).

End of match i had 4.5k hp, was critting 700-1k dmg, was killing minon waves in 4 hits. I ended up doing 2x as much damage as everyone on my/their team and taking 2x as much damage too. Killed 200+ minons and got about 7 towers lol.

Either i just had the biggest fluke of a game ever or i have found a new champ to play ;)

Will link LoLbase when it updates ;)

Have to unlock heros? Micro-transaction based?

: /

theres around 10 heroes anyone can choose and the heroes available change everyweek.

you can buy heroes and runes for ingame money you earn around 100-200 points each game and the heroes start i believe at around 1500, most cost around 3k and a few are 6k

theres no disadvantage over people who pay with money you can buy the game in GAME for 4.98 which unlocks a bunch of heroes and you get £10 worth of micro transaction points.

or you can just start an account and never spend any money.

the only things you cant buy with ingame money are the extra character "skins" and the bonus exp/ingame money for XXX days buff

Totally - people don't get this aspect, you do not have to spend money ever if you so wish and in time you will have unlocked as many champions as those who have spent money.

Download it and give it a whirl - it's different from HoN - you may like the difference or you may hate it .

What's going on a Developer that listens - whatever next :)

Thanks for all the feedback on the new penetration system. A number of you raised some very credible issues with the current system, and after listening to the volume of feedback on the topic we've decided to pull the new system from the build. Gathering opinions so we can make tough decisions like this is exactly what the PTR is for, and it's great to see the number of insightful posts that analyzed both the new and old paradigm. We at Riot really care about the opinion of our players, so thanks once again for letting us know how you feel in a constructive manner.

Many of you pointed out flaws in the old system that we'll attempt to address slowly going forward. Below contains a small list of the issues we'll be looking into over the next few patches:

1. Swap the order that flat penetration and % penetration are applied so that it is more difficult to reduce someone to 0 defenses.

2. Increase the cost of Last Whisper if the above change doesn't have a large enough effect on its balance.

3. Improve attack speed itemization so that there are more, better options than solely the ones with penetration.

4. Improve the % penetration itemization.

5. Potentially modify flat penetration runes so they are more effective against tanks/end game.

If and when all of these issues will be implemented is still up in the air, but I tried to order them in the priority I expect they'll be addressed. And, as always, we'll encourage feedback from our community at each step along the way.
