Im starting to adopt Trick2g's philosopohy of just not giving a **** now, I gank push lanes so hard , steal lanes cs - I dont care anymore. Im new to the game, and have been learning the mechanics via bot games.

Looking to have 3 or 4 champs that I can use to some degree of competence to be able to cover all lanes/roles if needed, before I venture into PvP.

I have discovered I like Morgana, who can cover Mid or Bot as support.

So Im looking for a champ I can use top lane, preferably a ranged champ as I don't seem to do too well with melee characters.

Any recommendations? I did buy Elise, but I am still learning her mechanics and Im not sure about her.

I'd recommend Kennen or Vladimir as they can farm quite safely vs the majority of melee bruisers that you see in the top lane these days. Or if you do fancy a melee then i'd suggest Renekton as he's probably the easiest champ to learn top lane as he has a good stun, gap closer and damage even when built tanky.

Looking at the changes on PBE and the mastery changes have some nice little notes on there -

Xin in lane is an absolute monster, build Botrk, tri force and ghostblade, its really strong, your build will vary but these are pretty core items on him, if you start dorans blade with lifesteal runes, his w provides so much sustain which is good, also there is no need for armor pen reds on him due to his passive.

With how long it takes to build up the extra income from the 'jungle items' Riot is basically asking you to decide if you wish to be a farm lots, gank little jungler or a roaming support pretty much.

Kennen (top/mid)
Xin (Jungle / Top)
Morgana (Mid/Support)
Ezreal (ADC/Mid)

damn morgana supports lol.

i beat a morgana top the other day her lane clear was ace but she couldn't handle the j4 once she'd used he stun i could chase her off lane. didn't need to kill her just bash her enough that she couldn't roam xD she didn't lose farm as the pool kills everything after a while.

Gragas mid is also very good without the steep learning curve that a lot of mids have; His wave clear is excellent once you've built some AP. He zones very well with his Barrel, as you can detonate it when you want, and he has decent escape with his charge :)

Last Morgana support I had called support but then stood there and did nothing. I had a lulu constantly poking me for 15 minutes while they stood behind me and occasionally shielded me. To say it was frustrating is an understatement :p I think this is why people don't want to support. They don't really know what they should be doing so they just AFK in lane which is obviously rather dull.

As for Jungle, I think the Trick2g's philosophy is the only way to win as a jungler sometimes. If you're nice you end up falling behind a ton in gold unless the enemy team constantly gives you gank opportunities which makes it hard to carry the game. Like you found the consequences are they'll moan at you a ton but you always get moaned at with jungling anyway :p I've seen Trick go 13 kills up as Udyr and his lanes were still giving him ****! It's ridiculous.

i seriosuly just block them now, last night again more moaning.

" dont push my lane"
"why steal blue"
" why steal cs"
"urgh your a noob"
"why not engage"
"uh report jungler"

unblocked them 10 mins later, and it had gone from that to "oh this guy will carry us"

rofl. Community can get ****ed as far as im concerned

Haven't had any rage in games I play for like 6 months or so :)

You must have chat disabled then surely :p

Lately I've just been toying around in the jungle in ranked since I hit Plat as I can't drop any lower and while I've had fairly decent games the last few I've had the bot lanes from hell. I believe the last one was like 0/21 between them both and the one before was 3/18 or so. After that there's usually no coming back when the opposing Vayne has a BOTRK at 8mins or something equally as tragic :)

Of course you then get the abuse of "why you no gank" etc. but luckily that's what the mute button is for!
No way I'm going to waste my time bot lane when the enemy ADC has a Bloodthirster completed already and all you have is double Dorans and the kill potential of a parapelegic ameoba.

Im new ofc - but if I support as Morgana I will shield, but also try to harass with pool and trap/pool enemy champs to set up a kill for my ADC. I guess its kind of an aggressive style of support....not sure if thats the right thing to do, but I don't know what else I should be doing as support, apart from warding.

As a general observation, supporting kind of sucks as you end up underlevelled and with less gold to make items, which is a fun part of the game.

Thanks to those above who offered advice on a top laner, Ill have a look at Kennen, seems to fit the bill.

I've pretty dropped this entirely for Smite. I like the action-hybrid aspect and everything being skillshot based.

The community doesn't seem to rage at all either, but possibly just because I am in the lower levels. Still haven't actually played with a friend, so that should be even more fun.

It's a shame though, I've pumped a fair few quid in to LoL, but I just cannot be bothered to play any more.

Support is great IF you and your carry know what you are doing. Supporting a random is hell on earth, but I've always loved playing Morg/Naut/Blitz/Sona (even Zyra) support and zoning, setting up kills, saving my team's butt, and generally getting my carry fed.

Definitely - support and ad need to synergise, if not it can be a levelling nightmare :)

Looking forward to support in Season 4 :)
