Leeds United Association Football Club Takeover

The league are still waiting to give Cellinio the all clear. His kids have been doing tours and things at Elland Rd so I think it is just a matter of time. His daughter posted a lovely picture of herself on twitter in the East stand boxes towards the pitch.

We are now looking at some goalkeepers as Paddy needs competition, Butland (pretty good) and Gomes (oh my god). Also a striker from Ireland called Dowd. The sooner we get Cellino in the faster we can get the ground bought and McDermott can then get some loans in.

This has nightmare written all over it, another shady character buying a footbal club with massive financial problems I can only see a future where Leeds are back in the same position on 12-24 months with this dodgy owner shifting the club to another nut job with administration either entered or looming.

It really can't be long before a big club goes to the wall the debt they are wallowing in is crazy and they can't go on getting lucky forever.

Will the FL give Cellino approval today? I hope so as we are FUBAR if he doesn't.

I'm surprised that Leeds fans want this! Although, I must admit I don;t really know what the alternative is - is the club going to end up in a financial mess if he doesn't take over?

The guy looks insane. His ability to run football teams is severely questionable and he's seemingly a crook! This has got a Birmingham City/Blackburn Rovers situation written all over it.

It's an option of sell to this guy, have him actually pump money into the team and likely promotion because of that.

Or the alternative is sell to the other group of more local investors, who i doubt actually have the funds to pump into the team to overhaul the squad in such a way that we could get promotion any time soon, which leaves us where we are now, but without the drama, and maybe some signings, but no where near the scale of what cellino can afford.

One route leads to a potentially unstable management structure, but a strong team on the pitch. The other leads to stable and financially neutral management but without the strong squad.

....at least that's the way i look at it, others opinions may differ, and it's all speculation and guess work anyway until something actually happens.

I think it would be unwise to assume that pumping money into the club would automatically mean promotion. Look at the losses suffered by Bristol City and Nottingham Forest over the past few seasons, and it becomes apparent that financial backing needs excellent back room and team management - something I'm not convinced this Italian chap is capable of providing. Blackburn took Jordan Rhodes for almost £6m, as well as forking out a shed load on other players, but their management and willingness to change managers frequently has led them to stagnation. The Italian's track record of patience with managers is bordering on embarrassing!

As boring as it sounds, give me financial stability over uncertain management any day of the week. Blackpool, Hull City (the first time round), Burnley and Reading amongst others, have all got promoted off sound management with limited budgets.

The club already is. There's not too much debt right now, but GFH are unable to service what is there and are losing money hand over fist.

Despite getting past the 'fit and proper owners' test.

Will be interesting to see what happens with other consortia that were floating around now. Some of them were saying that Cellino was getting in their way and that once the offer was accepted even improved offers for them were ignored.

Will be empty words if nothing else comes to the fore now, but one thing is clear in that GFH can't afford (and are seemingly unable in other ways) to run a football club.

One rumour was that if Cellino was turned down by the Football League then his son would buy and run the club guided by his dad. Would make a mockery of the whole system if that happens but I don't know how they could deny it if it was his name above the door, as it were.

Farnan's group have been trying to get a meeting with GFH all week apparently but keep getting knocked back. Wonder what will happen now and how we will go about paying Cellino back his £10 million.

Hopefully not the beginning of a new Portsmouth or Coventry. Feel very sorry for the fans of those clubs.

I reckon the FA would realise quite how stupid they would look if his son takes them over - but they could probably block the transaction based on the source of the funds.

The money he's already put into the club (£6m I heard at latest), are Leeds liable to refund the cash to him or was it a risk-free situation?

What is going on? The Farnan/Flowers group have no money. The only person/group able to/willing to put the money in was Cellino.
Hopefully someone else to buy us is found. -15 points here we come..

Cellino is appealing. I liked Brian but I think something has to happen. We are being spanked too many times. Cellino is bankrolling the club but can't make decisions. So no one upstairs has any authority to make decisions.

Its not Brian's fault really, maybe it is, but...it's just the club is in constant turmoil. Need to give him next season as well at least to bring in his own players..

Been spanked tonight...yayyyy
