Leeds United Association Football Club Takeover

I think they are trying to force the FA's hand. I hope it works and we get Cellino and Brian gets the backing for next year.

Then we get rid of the dead wood and bring in a few marquee signings maybe 4 players at 4-5 mil each. Go on a good few cup runs maybe beat a few prem teams then get automatic promotion by April.

Sorry I think I was dreaming then.

I'm liking Cellino more and more. Heard the transcript of the phone call? :D

The only reason Leeds have been unable to pay the wages is that they didn't have the cash on-hand to pay it, and the expectation was that Cellino would continue to fund things for 6 months. With the FA's ruling last week obviously he needs to protect himself.

One thing is for sure, whether Cellino is right for the club or not GFH are a cancer on the club.

Totally agree Gilly. I was positive about them at first as they seem to be doing the right things. Getting rid of Bates, reaching out to the supporters etc. But to now know they loaned some cash of him.
It is D day today.

They were making all the right noises, but they're an investment bank. They're not looking to invest in the club to reap rewards of a return to the top flight, they are looking to cream as much from a cash cow as they can right now, and that's it.

The interview is quality, he's clearly a bit mental but if he gets the club he might just get some things done that need doing at the club.

It become even more clear over the last week or two that GFH and Haigh both need removing and keeping as far away from the club as possible.

Apparently the judge has made a decision but has reserved his answer for now! Possibly thinking over his decision?

Cellino now disqualified from owning LUFC. Has 14 days to appeal.

Is only disqualified until March 2015 when we can reappoint him?

Farcical.

Yeah, he will be basically still be the chairman and owen as they aren't going to appoint anyone else and he has just put another 20m into the club.

Absolutely ridiculous, just need to either drag it out as long as possible to avoid anything actually changing, or what's to stop him from handing his son control and say "Fine I'm not in charge, he is"?

Feel quite sorry for Leeds at the moment (not that sorry, mind, but turbulent ownership and financial troubles can suck as a fan) as they seemed to have had no real choice, Cellino seems a crooked as they come and there's actually a bit of hope on the pitch - Cook, Mowatt, etc.

Annoyingly, I'm missing the trip up to Elland Road in February :(

Considering what we are used to Cellino is a breath of fresh air, managerial choices a side he does have the fans best interests at heart, he was at Cagliari for 22 years so he's not in it for a quick money scheme like Bates and GFH were (the latter still are).

He's ploughed a lot of money into the club to stabilise it and changed a lot of things. He's obviously brought in his own players and for the first time since Grayson's days we are actually playing football, it's taken ages for the new players and the kids to gel but we actually look a great side when in full flow, unfortunately errors and in-experience cost us this side of Xmas. If we could hold a lead we would be 2nd in the Champ! Adryan, Mowett and Cook look amazing prospects, let's hope we can keep them here.

Anyway, don't believe all that you read in the tabloids, he's had his misdemeanors in the past but should only be judged on what happens with this club. Let's hope Redders is in for the long haul :p

Totally agree Andybtsn. I was at the Derby game and we played some really good football. Adryan is really getting up to speed with the football here. The signings Cellino and Salerno have made look to be really good. I think Ajose was a Hockaday one.

Cellino said today he is with GFH getting more capitol agreed for either January transfer or the stadium, I have suspicions Bates has his finger in that pie still.
