Lenovo x121e netbook

Can someone confirm that these dimensions from the Lenovo site are correct?
289.6 x 208 x 23.5 mm

Im getting a custom sleeve made and I want to check the Lenovo spec sheet isn't wrong :) It takes a week or so to make so I want to get on to it before my x121e arrives!

Also this is the weirdest tracking I have ever seen... all over the world lol

I think its the UPS plane landing to refuel visit various hubs around the world that causes this.

In addition the times look out of order as I think they are all local time, so its possible to arrive before you leave.

Arrived today :D Unfortunately I'm gonna be away from home for a while so I'm not gonna have much time to play.

Any tips on first time battery charge or use? Don't have much time tonight so I was planning to leave it on charge overnight and fire it up tomorrow evening.

Mine is still "processing". Hope it gets here before Christmas...

My status is still at "Order in process" even though it is sat in front of me! I rang customer support and they provided a UPS tracking number to find out exactly when it would arrive. I would suggest you give them a ring.

I have been wondering whether to get the official Lenovo sleeve... but those look far better! I'd be interested to see what yours looks like.

Mine measures 290x208x24mm or 290x211x27mm with battery bulge at back. Hope that helps!

Thanks for that, so the 6 cell is a little fatter on the back and underside then huh? But i guess 3mm in the scheme of things is not a lot. I have been emailing Debbie from wrappers back and forth a bit and she has never fit one for the x121e before so mine will be the first she makes, You can choose any outer & inner from all the examples on the site, I'm going for Black cordua on the outside & red microfibre on the inside. Will upload a pile of pics when I get it. Was going to wait till mine arrived but with those dimensions you gave me I'll order mine tonight now, thanks!

Yeah there is a bit of a bulge for the battery, but the laptop is designed around this (I seem to remember reading that the 3-cell battery is exactly the same size) so it doesn't look or feel wrong.

Good stuff. I look forward to the pictures. I was having a look at the custom ones and was looking at either Alcantara or Cordura for the outer material. And colour... could it be anything other than black and red?! :D

Think I'm going to have to wait a while before I fork out another £50 as I have already wiped out my computer fund on the laptop itself. Upgrading the RAM is going to take priority.

Whats the lowest number you guys are getting on your Windows Experince Index? Mine is 3.4 and its the processor which brings it down to that level. I have the i3 version, but I read online that it should be higher than that? Everything else is 4.6 and higher on my machine. What rating does the processor get with the rest of you with i3 machines?

Processor is 5.2 with the i3-2367m
Have you run the test on battery power? My guess is the CPU was throttled when you ran the test

I have the same processor as you. I can not remember if what I was doing when I tested last time. But currently I have it plugged into the mains (with the battery removed) and ran the test again, Again got just 3.4 is something amiss here? Would it be better with the battery in? I have heard taking the battery out while plugged in can affect it?

On a seperate note. I am getting a 2nd charger would this one here

be suitable? The ones on the official site are expensive.

I know certain sandy bridge processors will throttle when they get too hot, but I'm not up to speed on whether these do (pardon the pun)

Are you running the test with AC adapter plugged in, but the battery removed, using the included 65W adapter?

I have found out something quirky, a lower CPU score on WEI when running the test without a battery but on AC (my preferred usage of laptops when at home). When the battery is inserted, and the 65W AC adapter is also plugged in, the WEI goes back up to the normal 4.9 for the i3-2357M.

I have Lenovo's ultraslim 90W adapter as well however. When I use that and no battery, the WEI remains at 4.9. Perhaps this suggests that running with the normal 65W adapter and when not plugging in a battery, that the CPU is somehow scaled down or something for some reason or other.

Of course, I'm not sure what test conditions you are using with your processor when running the WEI test.

The former - I want to know what the BIOS shows when you do have a suitable drive.

I am extremely interested too... I was looking at the intel320 (sata2) series as I know they AES FDE support works well, but I have decided to wait as the new intel 520 (sata3) series is going to drop any week now... and will support AES FDE.

I think you should try with your Samsung 830 and report back :)

After posting this question on lenovo it seems this answered it. If you are using the 65w adaptor with the battery removed it does throttle the CPU it seems. Thanks for all your help guys.
