What are those USB ports for if they are not at the sides for convenience?
Nice setup, btw.

Agreed, the positioning of the USB ports on LG monitors makes them almost useless. Much prefer when you have 2-4 USB on the side of the monitor, because I use those all the time to plug in things like pen drives.

Does anyone else apart from LG use power bricks for their monitors? I've never had one before. It wouldn't be so bad if they put the power brick on a length of cable with a regular plug, but no, the power brick is the plug.

Soooo I’ve been gaming on mine for a very long time now and I have not experienced a single black screen issue. I’ve ran into a few ones when launching a game but I think that was due to HDR which I seem to have fixed. Everything is working as it should. I guess I got lucky.

btw… for those that got theirs, what settings are you using? I’d appreciate it if people can list out their entire setting as I want the best quality image out of this monitor. Thanks!

Unfortunately for me, it doesn't look like my monitor made it to Scotland, and was last seen at the Birmingham Hub, Friday night. I'm going to blame the Scottish Bank Holiday weekend for this *grumble grumble*.

Fingers crossed for an early Monday delivery.

Didn't get mine either. I'm not far from where it left, so I think it's just down to logistics.

Competitor has 7 available on their eBay store!

Thanks so much for the heads up, managed to get one of these.

I've only ever experienced 60hz, is the difference jumping to 144/160hz noticable?

Currently using a LG 27UL850, it'll be nice to see what this 3080 and 5800 can actually do.

It's a huge difference, especially if you've never experienced it. Don't expect to be blown away or anything but the smoothness is very very nice. Game changer for fps.

The biggest tell is switching back to 60 after a while at 120. Very jarring.

Nice, my only experience of 120hz is on my ipad pro and it does make using the device smooth.

I assume I'm only gonna see a benefit in game and not when using windows?

No you'll notice it on desktop, again not mind-blowing but just a much nicer experience.

Any fps games is where it really excels though.

Well, I'm not a gamer, but I've noticed my mouse cursor is a lot smoother  However when moved quite fast, it's still jittery. Son of a bitch, so how high does the refresh rate have to be to completely eliminate mouse jittering if it's still noticeable at 144Hz?

Monitor has arrived, and has been setup. I was disappointed to see that the screen surface was marked. It seems to be a perfectly straight line of something sticky in the top right, about 1" down from the top.
I have managed to use a micro fibre cloth to remove it, but there is still a very faint line which is only visible when the screen is off - Maybe some form of screen cleaner could be used? Recommendations please.

Apart from that, the screen is running pretty well, however, upon closing a game, I ended up with a unique "Magenta" screen. I believe this happened as the Xbox Series X was leaving HDR to return to the menu. It only happened once though.

Can someone also tell me how to update the firmware? I installed the Driver, Control Centre app, and the On-Screen Control app, but I can't find anywhere for checking for new firmware.

Are these all separate software? Could you do us a massive solid and link to them?

All separate - Visit the LG Software Download Centre, bang in your model "27GP950". Select your OS, and you'll see all the downloads.

Direct Win10 Download Links Below

OnScreen Control - version 6.88
LG Calibration Studio - version 5.6.8
LG UltraGear™ Control Center - version 1.70
27GP950 WIN10 driver

Something to note: The Control Centre software only seems to be able to communicate with the "primary" monitor, so you may have to swap it to be your primary in order for the software to see it.
