LG 34GK950G, 3440x1440, G-Sync, 120Hz

im just in a hurry coz i got 1 week to make a decision to keep x34p or send it back
got it for £700 but it has a quite visible glow so if the new UW5 is actually without any GLOW i will go for it

F review should be completed and online tomorrow with a bit of luck (evening). i will then be moving on to the G version which will hopefully take me a bit less time as some elements (like design etc) i can repeat from the F review.

great news, could you please share how is the glow on this nano ips ?

My explanation was simplified but it still stands. Tearing is generally a high-FPS / low-Hz problem while stutter is generally a low-FPS / high-Hz problem.

At low FPS you have duplicate frames displayed. Yes, sometimes you can see a mid-refresh tear on a "new" non-duplicated frame but it's not as frequent or as prominent as when FPS exceeds the refresh rate.

I have the attention span of a frog, where will you post the review? :)

If you are in the EU then you have 14 days to ship the item back after declaring a return. So you can declare a return on the last day of return period and then keep the item for another 2 weeks until the last day of shipment period, and if you decide to keep it then you can simply cancel the return at any time.

Ah very interesting nice one, I guess everything will be the same on the G version except obviously Gsync. What is the expected release date for these?

End of november, somebody said.
From what we already know, G version has lower specs because uses the older Gsync module with only DP 1.2, so no HDR signal (HDR 400 that F has), no 10bit and no 144Hz (only 100 and oc to 120Hz).

Not necessarily. GSync can influence response times and lag for instance quite often. Remains to be seen but I’d wait for the G review before making any conclusions

Tearing occurs when the GPU is pushing more FPS than the monitor Hz
--> enable Vsync to fix, but know that Vsync adds lag due to buffering
--> with Vsync OFF, rate limit the GPU in a multiple of the monitor Hz to fix e.g. limit to 120FPS on a 60Hz monitor (provided you can sustain over 120FPS)
On AMD Gpus, vsync is not needed on this scenario. You can cap from the drivers the max fps without affecting input lag etc.
