So LG is finally bringing back the dark grey or black color, eh. The white version looks hideous as heck! It sucks the 42' doesn't have the stand like the 48".48" C2 another look here
42" Sony OLED here
You can just see with his set up, 42" just miles better at the size and distance. Probably even better @ 31" and 34" though.
I wonder as it does not benefit from the extra 20% brightness does that mean the evo panels benefit is used for pixel’s lasting longer and be more resistant to burn in vs last years models? I mean as I recall Vincent some months ago speculated that this would be the case on these and it makes sense as more gamers would be buying them.2 days old and only complaining, I don't buy any of it. Very good point. I totally forgot about that as I indeed thought about it too the evo "monitors" would last longer. So does the 42" actually has evo or not? LG website says yes but other non-LG websites says no. Maybe it's because it's a smaller screen. Bigger screen gets bright much more than smaller screens like happens to LCD too. And energy consumption of th 42" is less than 48". Evo panels makes much more sense in buying them indeed.I wonder as it does not benefit from the extra 20% brightness does that mean the evo panels benefit is used for pixel’s lasting longer and be more resistant to burn in vs last years models? There is a large EVO logo on a packaging, so I am pretty sure its evo panel, Vincent confirmed based on pixel structure too:Very good point. Cooling is restricted to G2, hopefully will make its way into C3 next year.''Evo'' is a bit misleading.
The 42/48 does have the updated evo panel but it will not hit the peak brightness of the 55 or above as its restricted and I think also doesn't have the same cooling.

Sony A90k 42 will have the cooling btw.
Yeah I would expect it to be quite a bit pricier than c2 - also because a90 was usually more in line with LG G series pricing - and few months late to the party.Hmm might look at the Sony, no release date or official pricing yet! I think I saw somewhere it was going to be 1399.

Have a look at Panasonic 2000 series reviews. Its much brighter compared to even LG G1 because it has a heatsink - hence can drive more current through the pixels. So what does the heatsink mean? For people who have their OLED light at 50 or above up to 100 or is it only for peak brightness? And what if I have it at 25?
The Sony 42A90K would look beautiful on my big walnut desk.

You are right, its not certain. The only 42" display with heatsink confirmed is pg42uq.Is this confirmed that Sony 42" will have heatsink though?
Since its hit and miss information, Value electronics was told by a sony rep it will have a heatsink but rest of net appear to claim it wont have a heatsink. Even hdtvs sony chart says no heatsink for 42 and 48" just the Evo panel. Appears Sony felt its not required due to Evo technology.
If the Sony had a heatsink id be tempted to wait on it but I doubt it will have it.
I'm torn. Getting the 48" C1 from 2021 or wait and see how bad the prices are for the 42" c2. We are so close to release of the C2 that it would make sense waiting to see the prices and perhaps even enjoy a reduction on the c1's but my eyes are bleeding on this 75hz IPS i'm currently running.
Can confirm. I own both the G1 and the JZ1500 (same TV as JZ2000 but without the built in soundbar).Have a look at Panasonic 2000 series reviews. Its much brighter compared to even LG G1 because it has a heatsink - hence can drive more current through the pixels.
Yeah, I'm most likely gonna wait... I got the itch and my current monitor is certainly not helping with that itch . I thought about getting something temporary but LCD market is silly overpriced for what you get.Id wait on 2 things, proper hands on review between the C1 and C2 and if the C2 is brighter and better which we should find out end of next week really.
Then see if C1 prices drop further, someone on hotuk deals said the 48" C1 was as low as £700 with a promo discount at one time, must be the lowest I think I heard off, otherwise £800-1K is often at times. You could set up a alert on hotuk deals to auto track the prices and deal offers also.
