LG 42-inch OLED

I'm torn. Getting the 48" C1 from 2021 or wait and see how bad the prices are for the 42" c2. We are so close to release of the C2 that it would make sense waiting to see the prices and perhaps even enjoy a reduction on the c1's but my eyes are bleeding on this 75hz IPS i'm currently running.

Price for 42" c2 is already confirmed at £1250. That's £250 more than C1 48" currently is.

Quick search on hotuk deals, 48C1 is 907 quid and in stock at one place at least. Not sure when the guys at hotuk deals saw it @ £700 or 800 but those guys are kings when it comes to stacking discount codes and promos, its like their first language down there.

Too expensive. I could not pay more than £800 knowing I had the opportunity to pick it up on late January for £760ish it was as I recall. At the time I thought let’s wait and see what the C2 42” would cost and what it would bring and if priced right grab that or hope more C1 48” ones go on sale.

Mr Currys got the cheapest deal on the 42" C2, add RECTV100 code on check out screen and you get £100 off the 42C2 making it £1.2k

Mr Currys got the cheapest deal on the 42" C2, IF you got an old TV you can recycle, just add the recycle addon option during check out and add RECTV100 code on check out screen and you get £100 off the 42C2 making it £1.2k

I checked TnCs for that recycling offer and it just says the old tv does not have to be bought from Mr Currys, I think you could just throw in any dead TV or monitor and they will take it in.

You can just use the discount code and not select recycling at checkout, still get the 100 off 99% certain it would still go through.

Yeah it is crazy, we have seen the each C series drop by a good £400-600 after a year almost. We don't even know if the C2 is worth it over the C1 until they confirm if the brightness is even there since it may not be there, I think a lot of people are waiting for that confirmation and may just grab a really good bargain.

I saw some refurbished 48" C1s for £750 on flebay but only 1 year warranty, would be better to get it new with 5 year warranty for a bit more if you find that nice deal that comes around.

I've just tested this and it works. I'm not sure if they will insist on taking your old TV when this one turns up mind

Are you not after the AW3423DW then?

Just Interested in the QD-OLED tech really, I think it could fix some of the issues I noticed on my CX before I got that refunded, but I don't think we will be seeing any 38-42" size QD-OLED screens any time soon and I don't game so wont need that AW.

Very tempting, especially as you can get a finance option where you don't have to pay for 9 months

Yeah code works fine, they wont care about it also so will just follow paperwork and delivery it.

9 months is very good, gives you wallet breathing time at least.

Well you just get as many cashback offers as you can. Usually you run into a limit of the cashback website you use and the payment card you use but combine that with a retailer discount code and that adds up. So if you use top cashback or another type of cashback site you get a discount and some bank cards like Amex also do cashback offers where you get another discount and that stacks.

ahh cheers gotcha

You all got the Platinum Cashback Everyday Cashback with Amex? My understanding is that one has no fees but gives you access to cash back offers like the Dell one mention in the Alienware QD-OLED thread?

@Nexus18 did you recently get one? How long did it take?
