LG 42-inch OLED

Which HDMI 2.1 cables do you all use btw? I'll need to order it too.

Depends on budget, but kenable certified hdmi 2.1 cables are very cheap and certified.

Also search for FIBBR 8K HDMI Fiber Optic Cables, both these 2 are usually on rainforest the Fibbr ones have been on special promo offers lately and some of the cheapest fiber optic cables going.

True HQ certified, Zeskit certified, Phoossno certified are used by vincent over on hdtv in the past and worked well also. Usually found on rainforest

I myself stick with Ibrah, Ugreen branded cables but they are not always hdmi 2.1 certified but should work, but id be tempted to try the others next time.

Yeah, I've seen the reviews on Amazon regarding the Ugreen and indeed, not all are certified. The Zeskit one is available on Dutch Amazon but it's almost €50.

Not ordered from Mr Lewis but given they had it first on pre-order up they probably will take a while to fulfil early back orders, the other retailers are lucky in that regard since everyone else went to Mr Lewis and not them.

I see MR richer has stock listed on the 42C2, shame they removed the £100 promo though

Yeah, thought I'd got in early enough to be okay, but maybe not. Contacted them about getting an exact update anyway so will see what they say.

Sadly just seen Mr Richer has bumped their price up another hundred back to the £1399 too, was considering cancelling JL order and switching to them but maybe not now..

Why did they bump up the price?? What the hell?

Currys also bumped price up to £1399

If anyone wants I have preorder with RS for 1249, ready to collect, will not be taking it as I have my AW delivered already.
Too much when the AW QD OLED I have order is working out under £800. These need to drop to under a grand. But LG know how to milk their customers so it will just drop slowly over time based on demand and supply. Bet you they will be a three figure sum at some point this year.

Oh wow that's some sneaky stuff, I didn't even see Mr Richer and Mr Curry 1.4K price tag till you guys mentioned it.

Yeah wait this screen is not worth that 1.4K price tag, people were saying its not worth 1.2K but imo everything has gone up cost wise and with world war situation @ 1.2k really hard to complain.

Got it and set up the buet. Pretty small box overall. Size wise works perfect for me and overall the profile is pretty slim. With slim wall mount sticks out 7cm to front of bezel from the wall so works well. I sit about 75cm - 80cm from the screen and it works perfect, the sweet spot for me as any bigger is not ideal unless sitting further back. Setting wise will take some time but gets bright enough this close to the screen. The ABL is there and active. Can be noticeable for example if you have a bright background / wallpaper then open up a white page and increase the size, largely expected however with OLED experience. Someone asked about text, its sharp and works well. PPI is pretty nice. Not as much as a 27" 4k panel of course, but works well without seeing any pixels from where I sit.

Also received my 48", my first OLED and first LG, going to take me a good long time to find the best settings...or even work out what most of them do. First impressions are that image quality is nice but the night and day difference I was expecting from my Sony, I've switched it from Eco to Standard but not tweaked anything else. Also need to look at the CEC/Sound settings, the Sony would switch to the ARC port and turn my sound base on, that doesn't seem to be happening here.

Also not a fan of the magic remote, although that's probably because it's the first time I've used it and I'm struggling to select what I want give it a couple of hours and I'll probably got used to it's quirks.

The OS seems fast and responsive but the home screen has a bit to much on it for my liking I will need to sit down and have a play and see how the layout can be tweaked.

Nice looking clean setup almost wants me to buy that LG 42'' C2 but at £1,000 max, need a new desk too.

Don't forget you can get any normal LG remote and use that. I can't stand the Magic Remote, have 2 of them gathering dust and I've got stock LG infrared units instead. I prefer the 2019 button layout too.

Nice on the 48" too :) Yeah takes some time to get used to the settings. I got the C9 in main living room and they changed enough on this one that I am having to learn it all again :o Also yeah not a fan of the way they now got so much on home screen. C9 with its older UI is so much better and simple.

To be honest main reason I just jumped for it now was doing renovations / needed a new desk etc anyways, so figured just sort it all in one go, well that and also got the 77" inch C2 on order so get the pain all over with in one go :D. In end though got it for £1100. £1200 cash at RS with there vouchers, then £60 off with Amex and got the free earbuds from RS sold for £40 so not too bad. Could save £100-£200 waiting a few months but just wanted to sort it while I am at it.

Looking at that setup from Radox I'm warming to the 48" not being 'that' much bigger if its easier to snag one for cheaper price! :D

DO IT DO IT :D I think if you got a deeper desk or sit a bit further then me a 48" would be fine. That and they are so much cheaper!
