I too have the 55CX, if you change your content over every day that's OK, also turn off the TV and leave it in stand by mode I game only on SDR not HDR when games use allots of static logos like Anno 1800,

OLED Image Retention or Burn-In: Burn-in and image retention are possible on virtually any display. However, with an LG OLED TV, any risk of burn-in or image retention have been addressed through the use of technology that not only helps protect against damage to the screen, but features self-healing properties so that any short-term image retention that may occur is quickly rectified. It is rare for an average TV consumer to create an environment that could result in burn-in. Most cases of burn-in in televisions is a result of static images or on-screen elements displaying on the screen uninterrupted for many hours or days at a time – with brightness typically at peak levels. So, it is possible to create image retention in almost any display if one really tries hard enough. And even if image retention does occur from extreme usage, it can usually be mitigated within a short period of time by turning the display off for a while, and watching a few hours of varying content (such as your standard TV watching and channel-surfing)

Additionally, LG OLED TVs come with special features and settings to preserve image quality and prevent burn in and image retention. First, there is a Screen Saver feature that will turn on automatically if the TV detects that a static image is displayed on screen after approximately two minutes. There are also three options (available in Menu setting > Picture settings > OLED panel settings) that can be used to preserve image quality. The first of these is the Clear Panel Noise feature that preserves the quality of the image on the display panel by resetting the TV so that it clears the pixels. This feature can be turned on when needed within the settings mentioned above. The second feature that can be employed is the Screen Shift feature which, moves the screen slightly at regular intervals to preserve image quality. A third option is the Logo Luminance Adjustment, which can detect static logos on the screen and reduce brightness to help decrease permanent image retention.
 
Thats very interesting thanks for that. So you dont turn on HDR on the tv whilst gaming on PC? Luckily i dont play games like Anno, Im more into fast paced games like Doom eternal and Forza. Im looking forward to playing Cyber Punk, Witcher 3, Red Dead, Control and the likes though. When you say change content everyday do you mean change icons around and such? but I'll certainly employ the settings you reccomend thanks.

The TV Picture mode Game (User) for gaming only turn the Picture Mode to HDR (User) when watching HDR content not gaming, your game should detect the HDR on your TV Automatic.

Change your content means watching streaming programmes and change your game over from time to time not stay on the same game everyday also hide all icons on desktop and taskbar also black desktop for wallpaper.

guys one question, my cx 48 is connected to a 2080ti and set to pc mode, true motion is greyed out cant select or set it up, but i found just by chance when i connected my gigabyte brix that uses a low end intel built in video card, i can set the resolution to interlace and the true motion settings will all show up but in progressive it will be greyed out also , is thier a way to set my 2080ti to output a interlace signal? ive tried custom resolution in NVCP but it wont let me set intelace , or is thier a way to make the tru motion settings work on pc mode? or make the CX48 open all its settings?

Trumotion is disabled when the HDMI input is set to PC. Most of the settings you would normally turn off for an accurate picture, are by default, disabled on this mode.

The only mode I miss is the RealCinema (5:5 pull down) for proper 24p content playback. The thing is though, I watch almost all my content (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Plex, Disney+) through the TV app, which is not through HDMI, so it does't even have "PC mode" so I still get RealCinema. And from what I understand, almost all movies and shows are mastered in 4:2:0 or 4:2:2 anyways."

Also, contrary to what i read over and over, HDMI 2.0 does support 120hz @ 4k. It just doesn't support that whilst also using HDR

I play @ 4k 120hz all the time on my 1080 Ti.

I do not recommend coupling a CX48 with a AMD GPU, as it's absolutely not the same experience driver wise. Nvidia have some 'special sauce' fix in the drivers I'm sure, as black levels and seemingly other settings are pre-calibrated in the Nvidia drivers to make everything work properly out of the box.

3080 is adequate for smooth 4K gameplay (between 60-120FS depending on the game) with RTX either off, or on low. I still see RTX as a gimmick, as the performance hit is huge and not worth it, compared to having a much faster/smoother experience with it off.

If the 3080ti is a good 20% faster than the 3080 I'll be upgrading to it, else will wait for the 4080.

The 3080 Ti should in theory be the worst Ti Nvidia have ever released. The Ti is historically around 95% of the performance of the top card (previously the Titan), and usually around 30% faster than the previous card (using 1080Ti and 980Ti as an example

As the 3090 (basically Titan) is only around 8% faster than the 3080, i can't see the Ti being faster than their £1500 flagship, and thus, garbage.

Oh I can. its not the first time Nvidia has released a ti which is then faster than their Titan, 1080ti was a perfect example. 5% faster than the Titan for £200-£300 less money.
 
No i get you, i just mean, who wants to pay a £300 premium for a card that would be then only 5% faster than the 3090, and thus only around 13% faster than a 3080. You would expect a good 25% speed premium over the non Ti....

Saying that. People were paying £1500 for the 3090, so yeah, it will sell.

That's right HDMI 2.0 doesn't support HDR. But HDMI 2.0a/b on the 1080TI dose support HDR @4K, 120hz it the same for the RTX 2080 TI, & RTX 3080/TI can't run some RTX titles because of VRam only 10GB with RTX turn on is 11GB @4K, 120hz

LG, CX- PC mode was design to turn off most of the TV features when using a HDMI no need to have them turn on when gaming.

thanks for the info, wish it have a option or a mode to unlocked everything, was thinking that using madVR and and adding a little trumotion like 3 or 4 dejudder and deblur would be perfect for me, i'll test it more later when my new righ is finish, its base on the 3000seriers card, and ive read somewhere that 2080ti cant output interlace signal or something, not sure on the 3000series

ive tried using the brix and set it up with a madVR/MPC-HC palyer and turn on trumotion to around 3-5 and deblur around same value and wow 1080 content is really like very very good , madVR alone for me is not smooth enough with its smooth settings on, i can see the judder with the movies, its upscale is good , thats why i wanted to pair it with a little trumotion
