LG 48CX OLED - 4K 120 Hz

Hooked this up to my 3090 with hdmi 2.1. The LG half of the time stops recognising the PC and shows nothing connected. Any ideas?

This happens to me if I try and Extend Display to the LG before turning it on... I have to turn the TV on and THEN enable it in windows.

Some early reports of the new CX firmware 03.21.09 suggesting it offers better compatibility with the 30xx Nvidia cards and hdmi 2.1 cables in general according to guys over on Avforum's at least.

One said it fixed his display vanishing @ 120hertz.

Looks like its a slow roll out though should be more rolled out over the next week or two.

The manufacturer becomes the first to confirm that such NVIDIA SKU even exists. The listing reveals that two ROG STRIX graphics cards are in development: ROG-STRIX-RTX3080TI-O20G-GAMING (with factory-overclocking) and ROG-STRIX-RTX3080TI-20G-GAMING (likely to feature reference clock speeds).
According to ASUS, the RTX 3080 Ti SKU would feature 20GB of memory, which would confirm the previous rumours about the graphics card’s specifications:
The graphics card is expected to feature GA102 GPU with 10496 CUDA cores, the same number as the flagship RTX 3090. It would appear that RTX 3080 Ti will simply offer less memory (20GB vs 24GB) and carry a lower TDP, to better combat Radeon RX 6900 XT series.
NVIDIA was initially planning to launch the RTX 3080 Ti in January, although new information seems to confirm that the SKU has been pushed back till after the Chinese New Year in February. It is unclear why the 3080 Ti listing appears on the ASUS website right now.

In what was extremely obvious to anyone not already rolling down the hill, or in complete denial, we have further confirmation of a 3080ti releasing in a few weeks, with 20GB VRAM.

IMO this will be 'the' card to get, the card that will cope with newer games at 4K without being constrained by VRAM concerns. I think it will also be faster than the 3090, though time will tell.

Can't wait to get mine ordered, and very happy I picked up my MSI 3080 Gaming X as a temporary solution for my CX48, with them still being hard to obtain, selling it on will also be easy :)

Rocket lake 11900k, Z590, 3080ti and CX48, dream setup is not far away!

Just use certified cables

It's costs a bit, but I got a cable that is ultra high speed Hdmi 2.1 certified and it's worked without issue at 4k 120hz HDR 10 bit

Guys can someone recommend a table stand for the 48" version of this tv?

I've done some measurements and the tv wont fit where I want it due to the tvs stand, so I need another stand that will drastically lower the monitor height

I bought one from b&m because I needed to get the TV back closer to the wall can also lower down to the thickness of the stand plate

I got one off amazon, it cost around £25 and can swivel. Very top of the screen is 14cm from the wall.

Slightly slower clock speeds and a narrower memory bus will in all likelihood prevent this from being faster than a 3090. In fact it will probably be closer to the 3080 than the 3090. If we're spitballing I'd say it will end up about 5-7% faster than the 3080.

I got my sons setup all built up and installed. I needn't have worried about the larger 49" screen size - it fits in perfect :)

So on my 55" CX I take it that some pc games will not enable HDR Forza 4 for one. Problem is the panel auto kicks it in when it detects a game launch. However the tv will not let you switch on the toggle switch in Windows settings before launching a game. Doom eternal works perfect however. It's annoying so if anyone has a solution other than don't use in Windows then please let me know.

You should be able to toggle HDR on/off when on the desktop. Are you saying you can't do that?

Yes I cant do that i have no clue why. My colour depth according to Radeon is 8bpc and pixel format is ycbcr is 4:2:0

I think ive solved it. Its because im using a VGA card that is HDMI 2.0 not 2.1 Seems my red devil 5700XT cant handle HDR when i set my resolution to 4K @ 120hz. Ive lowered to 1440p and instantly HDR is enabled. Need to buy a 3080 or 6800XT now to be able to use natve res at 120hz.

Gaah i spoke too soon now if i set 1440p to 120hz i lose hdr. but works at 60hz.. help? HDR will only work at 60hz and not 120hz at 4K and aslo 1440p.
