LG CX (C10) OLED 2020 Thread

The X is the 10, like in roman numerals. C9 was last year, CX is this year.

LG only do one version of the 48" OLED, the CX. 48" OLED is new this year so you can't really get it wrong right now.
I get it. I’ve just read on What hifi that in Europe CX6 is dark silver frame, CX5 is light silver frame.

Does anybody know if I'll be able to get ARC to work with my old Yamaha RX-V1065 Receiver? It's over 10 years old now and although it sounds great it's showing it's age. Only HDMI 1.3a too.

I plugged the HDMI directly into the TV and that's fixed the issue, my AV Receiver is a little too long in the tooth. Looks like I'll be using the optical connection for sound until they sort out the HDMI 2.1 issue out and I can updgrade the amp.

Looks so much better now with HDR enabled :)

The CX dropped by £100 on Richersounds to £1299 for the 55" version.
I just cannot make up my mind if OLED is the way to go and if it would be better to save £300 and get the Sony KD55XH950BU for £999 instead.
Then use the £300 for a 5.1 speaker upgrade :)
I only watch TV/Movies and no gaming so don't really care that much about HDMI 2.1 and it's problems.
Just want to move to 4k, been on 1080p long enough :)

If you can get the oled stretch to it. May even get a little cheaper in the next couple of weeks.

Buy from somewhere like John lewis that lets you price match for 28 days.

65cx is only 1799 so for a bit more cash you get like 40% more screen real estate. Worth a consideration!

Getting my 77" CX delivered soon. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with wall mounting it? Ia there anything good wall mounts that people recommend?

I notice the CX 48 variants are back in stock at both JL and RS , annoyingly no price drops as yet, with the 55 hitting £1249 yesterday from RS for me the 48 is becoming a non starter (although in intended location, a bedroom it would probably be a better fit)

If your budget allows get the bigger TV. Only time I'd prefer the 48" over the 55" is if being used as a PC monitor and you're sat 1 or 2ft away.

I'm sat 6ft away from the 65" and first thought was it's too big but that soon goes away :)

77" CX has now dropped to £3,400 and the 65" CX has dropped to £1740 at Costco!

Maybe more cuts before Black Friday? :)

Watching closely at the moment, new house purchase on Monday and this will be ideal! Tempted to go to Curry's as my partner gets 6% off making it £1691, and any further reductions before BF gets the difference refunded.
