LG Flatron 29UM65-P (29") UltraWide Monitor Owners Thread

Bah damn! :( hope mine doesn't develop a fault as I really couldn't be assed with the faff of having to deal with them.

Ah yeah forgot about that! Perhaps an issue with the onboard GPU you are using?

I would get that completely turned off as it just messes with the brightness settings and changes it depending on ambient light. Its definatly something you don't want on as even if your brightness is at 50 the eco mode will just change it to what it feels is right for the ambient light.

Really like the look of this. Got MOT and road tax coming up soon though. Can get £200 for my current monitor (Asus VN247H 1ms) and my GTX670 so if the MOT passes without work I may take the plunge.

Well after a week of using one of these i'm extreme impressed, but unfortunately i'm going to be returning mine due to some really bad bleed in the bottom left corner :(.

Only really noticed it last yesterday when playing about in Arma 3 but it's very distracting.

Nevermind, hopefully the next one will be better.

Yup think so, I think they will just do a repair i.e. swap the panel and reassemble the casing.

Probably worthy contacting ocuk just to be sure though.

If you do go through LG, I would include a letter in the box telling them to check the monitor for bleed in dark lighting conditions, not a bright office setting... before sending it back as mrk's screen came back with bleed still on the bottom left corner. Would also mention that the cause seems to be the casing/chassis is too "tight". Unfortunately, going by mrk's posts, they seem completely useless and aren't even aware of what the problem is :(

Hi,

I have some questions about this monitor.
I saw LG 29UM65-P and LG 29UM65 in e-shops.
What is the difference between that two models? Or maybe this is e-shops wrong name?
Another question I use MacBook Pro late 2012 and I would like to get full resolution.
Could you recommend me Display Port cable for that monitor?
Someone test it with PS3, PS4 etc?

If you can unclip the bezel at the bottom its worth doing soldier boy. I don't know if you can on your model though. On mine it completely fixed the bleed issues I had and now my screen just has a little ips glow and its pretty much perfect. Its my third one from OCUK and all had bleed...Mainly in the bottom left and right corners so chances of a perfect one are very unlikely unless you fix it yourself.

As I said though...not sure if you can remove the bottom bezel clip on this model.. somome would have to try.

LG wouldn't even bother picking mine up either when I showed them pictures of my bleed lol they just sent me a letter so OCUK would swap it for another new one which they did.

I don't think there is any difference, even though on ocuk it says -P at the end, on my box it doesn't have the -P

I thought with apple stuff, you had to have a thunderbolt connection? This monitor doesn't have thunderbolt.

mrk has covered console usage for the LG 34UM95 in his review, will be the same for the 29um65
