LG Flatron 29UM65-P (29") UltraWide Monitor Owners Thread

Yeah!! I'm going to have a play later.

Update bios of the gfx card, increase voltage on it. Not let the memory clock down etc...

Tbh, it's not a massive issue. After searching online there's lots of people with similar issues with cards and various monitors.

Now I need to get my monitor all setup properly on the desk now that I'm not swapping it out!

The only thing I have done with my 290 is install afterburner and:

- disabled ULPS
- increase power limit to 20%
- enabled GPU unified monitoring

Don't forget to get some lovely pics up once you do! ;)

Done the above. Got rid of the 2D/3D clock switching settings I had.

I also bumped the core voltage to the max that afterburner would allow along with the power limit to +50. (my card's water cooled so I shouldn't see any issues there).

So far so good. Now I need to organise my hell hole of a room and get some pictures!

Cheers!

Ahh that's grwt , had a quick view over at the 1440p for sale at 299 but opted befor the slightly cheaper, in stock ultra wide 29UB65 instead . I'm coming from an LG 1920 1080 IPS 27inch panel , hopefully this is worth the kick in the groin the wife game me

:D

Good to hear! Just thought I would let you know in case you weren't aware of the height on 21.9 monitors, I was going to get a 25" thinking 29" would be too big but glad I didn't as 25" 21.9 is super tiny.

Haven't tried it on mine but if it is anything like the 34um95/65 then probably not good at all i.e. only 1Hz increase iirc.

Funnily enough I did see the 25 inch on sale at debanhams , and did contemplate for 5 mins but new it would be a step backwards.

Ahh shame about the 1mhz , I'm able to jump to 70hz without frame skipping , 72hz with skipping , 73 no signal on my current lg panel . These 60hz?

What snips said.

You might be able to get 70 without frame skipping. In fact, I think the 29" by AOC (same panel) can get 70-75, but as I said, the 34" LG monitors can't......

I am too scared to try it out myself :p

Can't mess it up mate. If the refresh rate isn't accepted, it will go to a black screen and revert to normal after 15 seconds. You just try the next resolution & refresh rate you've given it.

My 27" 1440p ASUS is 60hz stock and I've got it running at 85hz, which is beautiful for BF3.

I know it is relatively safe to do but I am still too scared as knowing my luck the monitor will break!

I will let Monkeyspaz5000 and masterOC try it on their monitors first :p
