LG Flatron 29UM65-P (29") UltraWide Monitor Owners Thread

I also would have gone for the UB65 too if it had been sold here at the time I bought mine :(

Nice one legend! Hope you get a good one too.

Fingers crossed! I'm just wondering, Does it make ANY difference what connection you use on the 29", Displayport, DVI or HDMI? I have the latter two (cables I mean) but not the former, so wondering if I need to get one?

Probably not till later next year at the very earliest but I imagine badass or/and PCM2 will be able to give a more accurate ETA.

BTW masterOC, did you get a good overclock without frame skipping?

Here you are guys , quick vid of my little ghosty experience , ( sorry about the stupid voice and quality )

( Vid Pulled will post less sweary one later )

Very strange that, contact LG and let them know, they might be able to explain it.

Are you able to try a different GPU out?

PS, might want to re-edit the video/"beep" out the swear word before an ocuk don watches the video

Thanks! I will try OC mine later on and report back.

Ok thanks, will try doing mine via AMD CCC then :)

edit:

just read that I need to use 3rd party tools and supposedly they break a few things i.e. video acceleration so will leave it for the time being.

I've noticed quite bad IPS glow on my screen actually at the bottom left and right. Noticeable when playing a dark game like Alien Isolation.

Curious as to what your guys screens are like?

Is this a normal thing? My brightness is set to 15, so it's not due to it being stupidly bright or anything.

I have my brightness at 50 for day time use and 05 for night time use

I actually really don't have that much of a glow , a really slight bit of glow in top left but it really is unnoticeable unless I fixate and focus under the right lighting conditions . Really happy with my panel

Unfortunately, a lot of the ultrawide screens have issues with either excessive IPS glow or bleed.

My first two screens were awful for bleed and glow.

My third one is very good except the top left, it has excessive IPS glow when you view the screen from the right side.

I posted photos in my review.

I was using a brightness of 5% but from reading around, a setting between 10-20% seems to be the best for a higher contrast ratio.

I recommend getting a white LED strip for the back of the monitor, gives the perception of better blacks/contrast ratio and thus makes bleed/glow not as obvious.

Where did you get yours? Is it simply a USB powered one? I was concerned they may be a bit on the bright side.
